19) Do-over (Part 1)

"Cute." Taehyung flinched and looked behind him to see a smirking Hobi looking over his shoulder.

"Geez Hobi, you scared me." he said, placing a hand over his chest.

"Well you wouldn't be scared if you had listened to me when I called you the first two times. But you were so busy looking at your phone screen that you tuned out everything else. I was wondering what could be so interesting in your phone that made Iceman smile for the first time since I have known him, but now I know." Hobi said, making Taehyung embarrassed.

"Why are you here so early? We normally don't meet until lunch time. So, what brings you here?" Taehyung asked, changing the subject.

"Don't try to change the subject mister. Now tell me why you were staring at your caretaker's photo and first of all why do you even have his photo?" Taehyung groaned, knowing very well that once Hobi latches onto something, he never lets it go.

"It's nothing. Eunie wanted to make him look pretty, so she did this to him." he said, omitting a big chunk of the story and being vague.

"That still doesn't explain why you have his picture in your phone or why you were staring at it so intently." Hobi asked, enjoying his friend's misery a bit too much.

"I wasn't staring at it. It was just there when I opened the phone and I just happened to be looking at it when you came in." he said, getting defensive.

"Alright alright. So, I take it that things are going well then."

"Hmm, it is. Eunie is very attached to him. Sometimes I think she prefers him more than me. She's slowly coming out of her shell and becoming more and more like her old self, before everything went wrong and it's all thanks to him. I don't even know what he did or how he did it, but he has managed to do something that I have been trying for two years in just a month. Maybe she is close to him because he himself is like a small kid, always causing trouble. Both of them are complete brats and are always coming up with new ways to make my life miserable. You know you'd never guess looking at him now, that he is the same person from a month ago, who never dared to even look me in the eyes and is now painting on my face while I sleep." Hobi was looking at him with a wide smile all the while Taehyung was talking.

"Why are you smiling so much? I mean, more than your usual amount." Taehyung asked, looking at his friend who seems to be smiling for no reason.

"You do realize that this is the longest conversation we've ever had. Normally it's me who talks while you give one word answers or maybe a sentence if I'm lucky, but today you're the one who's talking while I'm just listening, and I can't tell you how happy this makes me. You know what, this calls for a celebration. You're treating me in my favorite restaurant and bring your Bunny too, since I should be thanking him for this change of yours." Hobi said, making Taehyung gawk at him.

"Seriously Hobi, you're asking me for a treat just because I spoke a couple extra sentences? Don't you think you're being overdramatic?"

"Not at all. You should see from my side, then you'd know what I'm talking about. You know how much of a pain in the ass you were when you joined. I always felt I would have better luck befriending a corpse than you. And you owe me atleast this much for all the times you turned down my offer for a hangout." Taehyung sighed at his over dramatic friend.

"Fine, you win. But we're not going to any restaurant. You're coming to my home. I should've invited you long back, but better late than never. And besides, Bunny is an awesome cook. I can guarantee you that it'll be ten times better than any food you've ever tasted." Taehyung said, with pride in his voice.
