Just One Day [Taekook]

57) Revelation

"Eunie, baby please stop crying. Nothing will happen to your Eomma, baby. You're my strong Princess right. Please don't cry, baby." Jimin was continuously trying to calm down a sobbing Eunie, who was choking on her tears as a result of continuous crying. Jimin too was panicking, but he tried to stay strong for Eunie's sake. It's been two minutes already since Taehyung jumped into the lake, but so far there was no sign of either Taehyung, nor Jungkook and Jimin was scared to death.

Jimin was almost on the verge of losing it, when Taehyung finally came out of the water with an unconscious Jungkook in his arms. He immediately ran to him and helped him carry Jungkook to the shore. Taehyung placed him on the ground and immediately started giving him CPR while his hands were shaking in fear. Jimin picked up Eunie in his arms, who was struggling to get down and run to her parents, but he held her tightly and turned around to not let her see Jungkook in this state, which might traumatize the little girl even more than she already was.

Taehyung kept alternating between pumping his chest and giving him mouth to mouth resuscitation, but there was no movement from Jungkook, whose lips were blue because of the cold and lack of oxygen. Taehyung had tears streaming down his face, but he didn't dare give up on his Bunny. His hands were shaking and his lips were quivering, while he continued to chant "Please" to every God that was listening. Jimin could hear Taehyung's pleadings, but he didn't dare look back at him, afraid that he might have a breakdown if he saw him like that.

With every passing second, Jungkook's chance of survival was also passing. Taehyung continued to administer CPR, not taking rest even for a second. Jungkook was slipping through his fingers and Taehyung hit his chest forcefully multiple times and he was about to hit it again for the fifth time when Jungkook coughed, vomiting water. Taehyung felt his soul return back to his body and he immediately held him by his shoulders to help him get rid of the water that he swallowed by continuously patting his back.

Jungkook coughed out water from his lungs, his whole body was shaking in Taehyung's hold, who was holding him tightly to his chest as if he would disappear if he loosened his hold. Jungkook held his head which was hurting like hell and before he knew it he passed out in Taehyung's hold.

"Oh God, Taehyung, what the hell happened here?" Yoongi asked running over to them, followed by an equally anxious Hobi. Jimin ran to Yoongi with Eunie in his arms as soon as he heard his husband's voice and started sobbing in his chest. Yoongi hugged him and tried to console him while Hobi ran to Taehyung and Jungkook. He could guess what might've happened by seeing them both drenched in water. He immediately checked Jungkook's pulse which was weak, before turning his attention to Taehyung who seemed to be lost in a daze.

"Tae, TAEHYUNG." Hobi shook him roughly to bring him out of his daze.

"Come back to your senses, Taehyung. We need to get him back to the lake house immediately." Hobi said, making Taehyung come back to his senses and he immediately wiped his tears and lifted Jungkook in his arms, before making his way towards their boats. Hobi went with Taehyung in one boat and Yoongi, Jimin and Eunie took the other. Hobi was the one paddling the boat while Taehyung just held Jungkook close to his chest without taking his eyes off him while continuously mumbling 'sorry.'

The group made it back to the lake house and without wasting a second Taehyung carried Jungkook to their room while the others followed close behind.

"Taehyung, you need to change his clothes and make him wear something warm. Jimin, you help him." Hobi instructed. Jimin immediately passed Eunie to Yoongi, who didn't want to leave her parents and was still crying her eyes out. Yoongi took a crying Eunie outside to comfort her while Taehyung and Jimin changed Jungkook's clothes. As soon as they were done changing him, Jimin called for Hobi, who rushed inside with his medkit and asked them to wait outside.
