60) Goodbye

"Please make yourself comfortable. I'll just be back after putting her on the bed." Taehyung said to the newcomers, who were currently inside his home, before walking away to his room with his daughter. Jungkook didn't need to look at Taehyung to know that he was hurting and it killed him. He desperately wanted to go after Taehyung, but he couldn't move. Everything was happening so suddenly. He had just got his memories back and he didn't even get a chance to properly digest everything, before everything happened.

On one hand, he was overwhelmed by seeing his family after such a long time, but on the other hand he wished he had more time, atleast to let Taehyung know everything by himself, instead of him getting to know the truth the worst way possible. Jungkook was brought out of his thoughts when Hyejin pulled him to sit next to her. She hadn't let go of his hands ever since she hugged him while the others were admiring the interaction between the mother and son. But there were three people in the room who held a sombre expression, seeing the family surrounding Jungkook.

"You're Mr. Min, the designer, aren't you?" Namjoon asked, looking at the two familiar people in the room. Jimin just nodded his head in reply as he didn't trust his words.

"How do you know him, Joon? Jin asked his husband.

"Jinie, he is the jewellery designer that Jungkook was coming to meet that night when the accident happened. We had met with him during the investigation as his was the last dialled number on Jungkook's cell phone. But, he hadn't met Jungkook before. They only talked on the phone. I wish we had shown him Jungkook's photo that day. If we had, then we would've found him long back." Jungkook was shocked to learn this new information. He didn't know that Jimin was the designer whom he was coming to meet that day. Everyone was surprised to know this and Jimin and Yoongi couldn't help but agree to namjoon. If only they had shown them his photo then atleast they could've prevented their friend from getting heart broken.

Taehyung laid his daughter on the bed and he couldn't stop the tears from flowing down his cheeks. He ran to the washroom and turned on the tap, before crying his heart out. His life changed in a split second and he wasn't even given a chance to prepare himself just like the last time. But, this time around he doesn't think that he'd survive if his Bunny chose to leave him. He stared at his reflection which resembled his state of mind, lifeless and dull. He didn't have the strength to go back out there, but he didn't have another option. He quickly washed his face and put on a fake smile, before walking out of the room and he prayed to God that he doesn't break down in front of all of them.

"Uhm, if you don't mind me asking, why did it take such a long time for you to find him? You didn't even give a missing person's report on your son." Hobi asked, breaking the family's get together. He had been silently watching everything till now, but he needed answers from them. He wanted to know why they never came for Jungkook, if they loved him so much.

"Because, we didn't know he was still alive." Namjoon replied, making Jungkook and the other's shocked.

"What do you mean?" Taehyung asked, coming down the stairs. Every attention in the room went towards him as soon as he stepped into the room and Jungkook couldn't help but tear up seeing the red, swollen eyes of the elder. In one glance, he knew that Taehyung had cried and he averted his eyes when their eyes met momentarily.

"Well, you may not know this, but Jungkook had met with an accident while he was driving during the storm and had fallen into the river. We had searched the entire river and every hospital and clinics in the whole state, but there was no information about him. In the end, we didn't have any other option than to believe that he was no more. The cops who investigated his case told us that due to the heavy storm, his body might've been swept away in the tides. At first, we didn't want to believe it, but even after waiting for weeks, when we didn't hear anything, we were forced to accept that maybe he wasn't alive and we ended up burying an empty casket with his name." Namjoon said, shocking everyone.
