58) Memories

Taehyung woke up from his sleep when he felt the cold wind hitting his body. He opened his eyes and saw the window was open and it was already dark outside. He sighed, before getting up to close the window and his eyes widened when he turned around and found the other side of his bed empty. He was panicking and was about to go out in search of Jungkook when he heard the sound of water running from the washroom. Taehyung knocked on the door, calling out for his Bunny, but he became more worried when his calls went unanswered.

"Bun, are you in there, sweetheart? Please answer me. I'm getting worried. Tell me that you're alright." Taehyung said, as he pounded on the door.

"Bun, if you don't answer me right now, I'll break this door down." he threatened, thinking of all the negative scenarios in his mind. He was just about to back away from the door to break it down when he heard his Bunny speaking from the other side.

"I'm alright, Hyung. I'll be out in sometime." Taehyung frowned when he heard Jungkook's voice and he immediately knew something was wrong just from the way he sounded. His voice sounded hoarse as if he had been crying for a long time and that made him even more worried.

"Bun, were you crying, love? Tell me what is wrong, baby. Are you in any pain? Please open the door and let me see you, love." Taehyung questioned one after the other, wanting to see his love in front of him.

"I'm fine, Hyung. I'm just taking a bath. Please don't worry. I'll be out in ten minutes." Taehyung wanted to force him to open the door, but he relented and decided to wait outside for Jungkook to finish.

"Alright love. I'll be right outside if you need anything. Come out soon." Taehyung said, leaning against the washroom door as Jungkook hummed in reply.

Jungkook turned on the shower and sat under it, bringing his knees to his chest as he bit down on his lips to muffle the sound of his sobbing. He wanted to bang his head somewhere to stop the millions of thoughts running through his mind. He didn't know whether to laugh or cry at his misery. His whole life felt like a big joke that God decided to play on him. Ever since he woke up in bed, tangled up with Eunie and Taehyung, his eyes haven't stopped shedding tears.

'Why God? Why did you do this to me? What have I ever done to deserve such a big punishment? What has my family done to you and Minjae, what has he done? If this was my fate, then why did you return my memories? I would've lived my life oblivious to the truth. But now what am I supposed to do? Hasn't Taehyung Hyung and Eunie suffered enough in this life? Then why did you do this? Why did you make me fall in love with another man when I already belong to someone else? How am I supposed to tell him that I have a fiancee and how should I tell Jae that I cheated on him? Why, Why, Why did you make me a cheater? ANSWER ME.' He screamed out in agony, but no sound came out of his mouth.

Jungkook was lost and broken. He felt his heart break with the amount of pain he was going through. He made a promise to Taehyung to never leave him, but he made the same promise to Minjae too. Never in a million years he thought he could ever look at another man let alone fall in love with him, but here he is in love with another man who isn't Minjae and he doesn't know how to accept this truth. How happy he was to get married and start a new life with his boyfriend of three years and now when he thinks about those days, it feels like another life to him.

His heart is conflicted and he doesn't know where to go from here. Life has played a cruel joke on all of them and all he could do is cry at his fate. The thought of what his family must've gone through in his absence makes him more heart broken. How much he wishes to see them and hug them close to him and never let go, but at the same time he is scared to face them, scared to see the disappointment in their eyes when they know the truth about what he has done. Even though he didn't have his memories, he still feels guilty for cheating.
