65) It's always you

Jungkook looked at Minjae, who was looking back at him with so much love and adoration in his eyes and he felt his heart clench with unbearable pain. He didn't want to hurt his best friend who had done nothing wrong, but love him unconditionally and he hated himself for what he was about to do. But, he didn't have any other option. He cannot give false hopes to Minjae when his heart and soul belongs to someone else, when he belonged to someone else. And he knows from the bottom of his heart that he won't ever be able to give his Hyung's place to anyone else as long as he lives.

Minjae was still on one knee waiting for his answer while Jungkook looked at him with teary eyes. He didn't have the guts to look into his family's eyes, not wanting to see the disappointment in their eyes for what he was about to do. He just hoped that they'd forgive him someday. He removed his hand from Minjae and with a very heavy heart he uttered the two words that would break not just Minjae's, but everyone's hearts.

"I'm sorry." As soon as those words left Jungkook's mouth, the entire hall was filled with silence. Nobody spoke. Everyone looked at Jungkook, confused and worried as to why he was apologizing. Minjae was too frozen to even make a move while he looked into Jungkook's eyes and it was then that his whole world came crashing down. Instead of love, the only thing he found in Jungkook's eyes was guilt and he couldn't understand why would he feel guilty. But before he could open his mouth to ask anything, Jungkook was already running out of the place as everyone stood there in shock.

Jungkook's eyes desperately searched for his Hyung everywhere and he hoped that he hadn't left the venue yet and just when he was about to start panicking he saw the silhouette of the man he was searching for about to walk out the door and without thinking anything he screamed on top of his lungs, successfully bringing the male to a halt. Jungkook ran towards him and hugged him from behind as he cried his heart out, holding Taehyung tightly in his hold.

"I love you, Hyung. Please don't leave me. I love you. Only you. I will die without you. Please." Taehyung, who had been frozen in shock, came out of his shock and immediately turned around.

Bu..bunny." He stuttered out, not believing his eyes that his baby was standing in front of him and declaring his love for him. He thought maybe his ears were playing a cruel trick on him.

"What are you saying, bun? Please tell me it's not a joke." He asked, still not believing that his Bunny chose him.

"You asked me if I'll be able to live without my family and if I'll be able to choose you over them. But, you didn't ask me if I'll be able to live without you or if I can choose someone else over you. I love my family, but I love you too. I'll be incomplete without my family, but I'll die without you. So, tell me Hyung, what should I do? Whom should I choose? Should I listen to my heart that tells me to choose my happiness or my brain that tells me to sacrifice it for the sake of my family? I don't know what to do, Hyung. All I know is that I won't be able to live without you. So, if my only option is to choose, then I'd rather die than to choose to live without you." Jungkook didn't finish his sentence before Taehyung pulled him by his waist and attached his lips with him.

Everything that he had been holding in for the past one week, all the pain and longing, he poured it into the kiss. All his insecurities and doubts flew out the window when Jungkook declared his love for him in front of everyone. He had promised himself that if Jungkook chooses to be with him, then he'd fight with the whole world for him and now that Jungkook proved to him that he loves him just as much as Taehyung loves his Bunny, there is no power in the world that can separate them. He'd fight with the whole world if he has to.

Taehyung didn't care who watched them or what the consequences of his actions would be. He was too lost in the ecstasy of having his Bunny in his arms again after the long tortuous separation to pay attention to the very audible gasps around the hall. He kissed Jungkook roughly, biting his lips hard enough to draw blood to make himself believe that he wasn't dreaming and his Bunny was indeed in his arms. He could hear his heart beating loudly in his chest as if rejoicing their reunion. But their euphoric moment came to an end when a scream broke through their senses, bringing them out of their world.
