"So, you're telling me that somebody just happened to come across this ring by fortune and you want me to believe that nonsense?" Minjae asked, fisting his hands in anger. The past thirty minutes or so he spent listening to the explanations of the officer in front of him feels like a dream to him. He kept holding the ring in his hand, rotating it between his fingers to make himself believe that he wasn't dreaming. He hopes this isn't a dream, but the ring in his hands was as real as the man sitting in front of him. He blinked his eyes, trying to control the tears that threatened to fall down, before listening to the officer in front of him.

"I don't know what else to tell you, other than we don't have any evidence suggesting otherwise. I know it is difficult to believe and we wouldn't have believed it ourselves if we hadn't known about your fiance's accident. It is a fact that he fell into the river and it is also true that it was raining very heavily that day. Add to that the fact that even after searching for weeks, the officers who were handling the case couldn't find his remains. For all we know he might have lost the ring in the river and by some miracle those two fishermen found it caught in their net. Now I know it sounds ridiculous and something out of a movie, but until we have some other evidence that tells a different story, we have to go with the one we have." The Inspector explained.

"So, basically you're telling me to wait for something else to fall into your laps like a miracle. But, I'm not someone who waits, Officer. I'm a man of action and since you are incapable of finding out the truth, I'll do it myself. Now if it isn't too much for you, I want the names of those two fishermen who miraculously found the ring or do you want me to call the commissioner?." Minjae asked, indicating he wasn't going to take no for an answer. The Inspector thought for sometime, before sighing. He knew the connections the Lee's and the Jeon's had. There wasn't any point in rejecting when he knew they could just get the details anyhow.

Minjae walked out of the police station with the ring safely hidden in his pocket, along with the names of two people written on a piece of paper, whom he would be meeting pretty soon.

It was the next morning and Jungkook was making breakfast for all of them when he felt two arms wrap around his waist. He flinched at the sudden contact, but relaxed once he knew who it was.

"Why did you leave the bed so early, bun?" Taehyung asked, tightening his hold on his waist while nuzzling his face on Jungkook's neck, sending butterflies to his stomach.

"I always make breakfast at this time, Hyung. You're late today." he answered, continuing to make food with a clingy person behind his back.

"What's the point of getting up early when you have nowhere to be? You could've slept in too, you know." Jungkook could feel the sadness in Taehyung's voice even though he was trying to be nonchalant. He turned around in his arms and cupped his face between his palms before addressing him.

"Hyung, so are you telling me that you should get up early and have breakfast only if you have somewhere to be? So, by that logic, I shouldn't be waking up at all, since I'm not going anywhere. I'm at home 24/7. So, should I just stay in bed?" Jungkook asked, raising his eyebrow.
