10) Trusting Him?

"I don't need time to think?" Jungkook said, making Taehyung look at him in surprise.

"Sir, I have no memory of my past. I don't know if I have a family somewhere. I don't know if anyone is searching for me, hell I don't even remember my name. I know what it's like to feel lost and depressed, thinking that nobody understands you. I can understand Eunie, because I feel a connection with her.

If Halmoni hadn't taken me in and treated me, I would've probably died and then you gave me this job even though you don't know anything about me. You gave me a chance while most people would've shown me the door. I cannot express my gratitude in words and if I can help Eunie even a little bit, I'll be happy. I promise I'll love her and treat her like my own kid and not as a job."

Jungkook's words left Taehyung speechless. He didn't expect the boy to say something like that. Only time will tell if he'll be able to keep his word, or he too will run away at the first sign of trouble. Either way Taehyung was grateful to have someone who wouldn't treat his daughter as a means to a paycheck.

"I hope you understand what you're promising. It won't be as easy as you think. Just because she baked a cake with you and didn't give you any trouble today, doesn't mean that she won't give you trouble tomorrow or the day after that."

"I understand that Sir and I meant what I said. I won't go back on my word." Jungkook said, with sincerity.

"You know you don't need to keep calling me Sir, it sounds weird. You can either call me Taehyung-ssi or hyung since I'm older than you." Taehyung said, making Jungkook surprised.

"How do you know I'm younger than you?" he asked, making Taehyung look at him as if he had lost his mind.

"You're joking right? I am 30 years old and you practically look like a teenager." he said, making Jungkook widen his eyes.

"I don't look like a teenager." Jungkook huffed.

"Sure you don't." Taehyung mocked.

"You're mean." Jungkook said, making Taehyung raise his brow.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to say that. Please don't fire me." Jungkook said, panicking.

"Hey hey, I'm not firing you. So calm down." said Taehyung.

"Thank you Sir."

"Again Sir?"

"Sorry h..hyung."

"Now that sounds much better than Sir." Taehyung said, smiling.

"Now what should I call you? Do you have any suggestion for a name, atleast until you get your memories back?" Taehyung asked.

"You can call me anything. It doesn't matter." Jungkook answered.

"Hmm, how about bunny?" Taehyung asked after thinking for a while.

"Bunny?" Jungkook asked, surprised at his choice.

"Yes, because you look like a bunny when you smile. Instead of choosing some random name that has nothing to do with you, I thought bunny was a better option. You can think of it as a nickname. What do you say?" asked Taehyung.

'Do I really look like a bunny?' Jungkook thought.

"Ok you can call me bunny. It's better than some random name like you said." Jungkook answered.

"Alright bunny, it's getting late now and I have to put Eunie to bed. You should also go to sleep. We can discuss other things tomorrow." Taehyung said, walking out of his room with Jungkook following him.
