Chapter 41

Everyone started leaving the meeting room, Pete wanted to talk to Rain since he noticed how he reacted after hearing Venice's words, however he stopped right there and turned back to his son, he patted his shoulder and pulled him away from the rest of the group to talk with him.

"Venice, I think that you should tell Rain what you really meant, I fear that he may have misunderstood your intentions when you said that it wasn't a good idea to take him to the next event." Pete said calmly. His son looked at him and listened carefully, then he looked at the floor, he closed his eyes and nodded.

Payu knew that he just had to apologize and explain what he really meant by that, however, for some reason that remained unknown even to himself, he didn't find the courage to walk to Rain and talk about it right at that moment.

That wait only made things worse, Rain thought that his behavior permanently changed Payu's idea of his boyfriend and that their relationship wasn't going to improve after that. He took a deep breath and stopped right in front of his partner, surprising him.

"Payu, we need to talk" Rain managed to say resolutely. Venice didn't say anything, he nodded silently just like he did with his father and followed Rain to the car.

"P' Payu, I understand that you may be ashamed of me, however don't you agree that what you did was a little too much for me to handle? I'm sure that you don't mean to make fun of me but... but I feel like the others may interpret it that way..." Rain said.

Venice looked at him in the eyes, he laid his hand on his boyfriend cheek and replied:

"I've never felt ashamed because of you, Rain. I should have been more explicit when I said that it wasn't a good idea to take you to a public event. I didn't mean that you would make yourself ridiculous, I just meant that the kind of people that you will meet may be a little... arrogant... and I don't want you to feel hurt because of some snobbish rich guys."

Rain calmed down, he hugged Payu tightly and then he sat down next to him on their way back to the minor family's house.

When they were back at home, Venice and Pete went to the living room, Pete really enjoyed spending some time in that room reading a book and listening to his son playing some music. That day, Venice hoped that Rain was going to listen to him but Rain preferred to go somewhere else, maybe he was still mad at him?

"Enter..." Vegas said as he heard someone knocking on the door of his office. He was caught off guard to see that the one who was bothering him was actually Rain.

"Are you busy, Khun Vegas?"

"No, I'm not. What do you want?" Vegas asked after putting his glasses away.

"I didn't know you had glasses..." Rain remarked.

"I use them to read but I guess that you aren't here to talk about my accessories, right? Go straight to the point and let's see what I can do" Vegas replied.

"I... I would like to know when the next event will take place... and if Venice will go there" Rain asked.

"Tomorrow, 7 pm, why do you want to know that?"

"I would like to come..." Rain replied.

"I didn't hear you" Vegas said, that was an obvious lie, he could hear the boy perfectly, however he wanted him to be a little more confident while talking, so he forced him to repeat his wish louder.

"I would like to come with you" Rain repeated.

"As you wish" Vegas replied, he was about to put on his glasses again but he noticed that the young guy was still standing in front of the desk, he sighed and added:

"Since you're still here I guess that you want to tell me something more, what is it?"

"Would you like to teach me how to behave more... adequately? I don't want to be a fish out of water... also because I know that Venice will feel hurt if something like that happens" Rain replied.

Vegas looked at him, he observed him carefully, trying to remember all the elements that were supposed to change, then he smirked and nodded.

"We have a lot of work to do... but I guess that I can make you presentable at least since the short amount of time" Vegas said, he noticed that Rain looked even lower after hearing that so he added: "Oh come on kid I was joking!"
