Chapter 21

Rain remained awake all night. For the first hour he talked to Sky and told him everything, from the punch to Win in the morning to the fight with Pete in the evening. At first Sky thought that his friend was more worried about losing Payu than about his fight with Pete, but after some time he realized that Rain was genuinely sorry. He didn't know what to suggest though...

The next morning, Rain started walking to the minor family's house. It was a long walk but it wasn't important since he didn't have classes that day. He eventually managed to reach the mansion. Before ringing the doorbell at the gate, he looked at the parking lot and sighed in relief after he saw that Payu's motorcycle wasn't there.

He rang the doorbell and a butler responded and opened the gate. Rain entered, he knew that this time no one was going to come to rescue him. He was alone and he had to fix this mess on his own.

Vegas rushed to the door after a maid told him that Rain was there, he grabbed him by the shirt and pushed him away before the boy could say anything.

"Go away! I don't want to see you in my house ever again!" Vegas yelled. Rain knelt down and looked at the ground.

"Khun Vegas, please... I need to talk to your husband, I beg of you..." Rain said.

"Didn't you hear what I just said? Get out! You aren't welcome in this house anymore! You made my son cry, you made my husband cry, I'm not going to accept anything of this!" Vegas shouted.

"Please, just one minute... it will be enough!" Rain responded.

"If you're so desperate then why didn't you think twice before saying something like that? Go away!" Vegas shouted again. Rain apologized for the waste of time and left the courtyard. He started walking on the sidewalk, thinking that everything was lost forever.

"Hey, are you Rain?" a man in a black car asked.

"Me? Yes... what may I do for you?" Rain asked confused. The man's face was the last thing Rain saw, he felt a thick bag covering his head and someone tying his hands behind his back, then he got kicked inside the back of the car and the man drove away.

After several minutes, the car stopped in an abandoned building outside the city. An henchman removed the bag from Rain's head.

"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to hurt him! Please, let me go!" Rain begged as he saw a man in a fine suit walking to him.

"Do you know what is funny, Rain? That everyone always says the same thing... they apologize and add that they didn't mean to do what they actually did. Don't tell me that you thought you were going to be ignored after a mistake like that." the man said.

"I... I'm sorry... I swear... I didn't mean to hurt Khun Pete..."

"Khun Pete? Wait a second... you're Rain, right? You have worked with Payu too, haven't you?" the man asked confused.

"Yes, that's true sir!"

"Good. You're the boy who punched my brother in the face. I'm Phakin" the man said.

"Oh shit... sir, I can explain! I swear!" Rain shouted in fear.

The man smirked at the sight of the poor boy begging him with all the air left in his lungs. He picked a foldable chair and sat down, he lit a cigarette and added:

"Perfect, I love explanations. Tell me, I'm all ears"

"Ok... ok... I... I..."

"Stop stuttering, it irritates me"

"Alright... I thought that your brother and Payu were dating. I was quite sad because..."

"I don't care about your feelings kid, just go straight to the point. Time is money and I can't waste neither of them." Phakin interrupted.

"I thought the two of them were dating. I even saw them together a few times so I was pretty sure about that. Then I saw Win kissing another guy and I couldn't accept it... I didn't want to see Payu hurt because of his boyfriend cheating on him... so I punched him. I swear that it was all just a misunderstanding!" Rain explained.

"I believe you"

"What?"

"Yes, I believe you."

"Wonderful! Can you let me leave then?" Rain asked.

"Certainly not. I said that I believe you, I didn't say that I was going to forgive you for hurting my little adorable brother. Hear me, I will ask my boys to beat you up for an hour until they're satisfied, I think that it is a fitting punishment for hurting an innocent guy, don't you agree?" Phakin said patting Rain's head.

Two henchmen started punching and kicking Rain. After a few minutes Phakin started thinking about what Rain said first. What did he mean?

"Hey, stop you two. So, what did you mean when you said that you didn't want to hurt Pete? Who is this Pete? Don't tell me that..."

"Payu's father..." Rain responded exhausted.

"Ok, hear me out. I want to make this a little more spicy since I'm already bored of your moans of pain. You'll tell me what you did to Pete. If I think that it was a serious mistake, I will inform them that I have you in my hands and see what they want... if you didn't do anything serious, then I'll let you leave"
