"Good morning nong! Have you slept well? I've talked with the doctor and he said that you're free to go now, you just have to eat properly. I thought that since you live alone you could come to our house for a week or two, just enough time until you get better, what do you think?" Pete asked as soon as he saw Rain's eyes opening.
"Wh... what are you doing here? It is so early..." Rain said as he looked at the clock on the wall.
"Oh, we have slept here, I didn't want to leave you alone you know" Pete replied. Rain felt like his heart was getting warmer, in the meanwhile Vegas was frowning, he still didn't want to accept the fact that his husband was getting so protective over the same boy who made him suffer.
"You... you didn't have to... "
"Well, we are a family now, right?" Pete responded.
"You know what? This family picture is too cheesy, I will go out and smoke a cigarette" Vegas said.
"I thought we both stopped smoking after we got Venice" Pete said glaring at his husband.
"Then I'll drink some bleach, happy now?" Vegas replied as he opened the door.
"Remember that they don't have the brand you like" Pete added, getting a gentle "fuck you" from his partner after he left.
"Venice, your sleeping beauty is awake now..." Vegas said to his son before going to the small terrace to breathe some fresh air.
Remembering what happened the previous day, Payu knocked on the door and waited for Rain or Pete to tell him if he could enter. Pete asked the boy in the bed if he was ready to meet him and Rain accepted this time. Payu opened the door and slowly walked to the bed.
"Sky came here while you were asleep... he was out of the city when he called the first time so he couldn't come back soon. I've explained him the situation and he said that he would appreciate if you call him when you feel better..." Payu said.
"P Payu..." Rain started.
"Yes?" Venice said and rushed to the side of the bed like he could hear the words earlier if he was closer to his lover.
"I'm so sorry..."
"Stop it... stop repeating it... I can't take it anymore" Payu thought. He was smiling at him but the whole structure behind that mask was cracking and falling. He knew that his lover was alive but the typical "What if" was hunting him like a demon.
"I'm sorry Rain, if... if only I..."
"No, P Payu, I could avoid all this by staying silent that evening... I deserved this..."
"Nong, stop thinking about it. I've forgiven you, this is what you wanted, you wanted to prove that you're a good person, well, that's my idea of you, a kind and pure soul, isn't it enough?" Pete intervened.
"Thank you... you're all so caring..."
"Because this is what a family does, right?" Venice said while kissing the boy's hand.
