"So we still have no idea who or why this is happening?" Sam grumbled as we pulled into the base. We had been silent the rest of the trip, my arm was hurting terribly, John looked lost and defeated and Sam and Bucky still weren't talking. I had noticed something with the cars but I wasn't sure if I'd actually seen it or if it was wise to bring it up with Torres, so I sat, slumped in Bucky's lap, gripping my rifle tightly.

"We might not know that, but we removed John from the board. So that's a win in someway." I sighed as we pulled up and carefully climbed out of the car. As I straightened up I winced slightly and Bucky grabbed my shoulder gently. "I'm ok." I replied softly at the worry in his eyes before I shouldered my gun and motioned for Jon to follow me, leaving Bucky and Sam alone again.

"So where did they find you? Were you a widow?" John asked me quietly as we moved through the hanger and into the mess hall. I smiled crookedly at him. "No not at all. Up until 6 months ago I was just a civilian." I said honestly with a tiny shrug. "With no formal training or background yet look at you now Fledgling." Blackwood piped in and I smiled warmly at him while John just looked confused as hell. "Seriously?" He asked dryly and both Blackwood and I nodded simultaneously.

Blackwood took John to Torres for a debrief and explanation while I went back to the car and found Sam and Bucky at each other's throats. I ran over, shoving them apart. "What is your problems?! Seriously what the fuck happened to make you both like this?" I questioned them both bluntly and Sam swatted my hand away, before storming off again and I stood there, lost and upset. Sam never got this pissed so what the hell was going on?

"It's me." Bucky said quietly and I turned to him, frowning. "He's worried our friendship will put you in the same danger it did him." I mouthed OH as I turned back, watching Sam disappear into the hanger. "You didn't tell him?" I asked quietly, moving back to go take my rifle to the infirmary. "Lexy how can I? Look at how he's reacting now because we're close. If he finds out...I don't think we should tell him yet. Any of them." I sighed deeply but he was right.

If we told them, that I was the only thing standing between these people and turning Bucky, they'd lock me up, make me go into hiding and Bucky knew I couldn't and wouldn't be caged, not like that. Not when it put him at risk too. He followed me to the infirmary and waited for me to lock up my rifle before I finally pulled my jacket off and hissed at my arm. "Let me see." He said sternly and I pouted but gave him my arm, letting him check it over until he lifted it gently and I yelped. "You're just sore and stuck." He said flatly.

"Asshole." I grumbled quietly and tried to take a step before my legs shook and I nearly toppled over. "Yeah, thought that might happen. Come on." Bucky scoffed slightly as he scooped me up and carried me to our room. I'd been shot at, actually grazed by a bullet, thrown out of a building and a plane, been on the run, literally for my life, yet a sore shoulder made my legs give out. HA! "Hot shower will help loosen those muscles up." He said simply and put me down in the bathroom.

I did as he said and had a nearly scalding shower before I dropped to the edge of the bed in my towel still in pain. "It didn't help." I whined and he sat up behind me, gently moving my hair. "It's made everything relaxed, can I massage it for you?" He asked quietly and I frowned at him playfully over my shoulder. "Well I can't." He huffed with a smile and gently reached his left hand up to my shoulder and started kneading my muscles. It hurt in the best kind of way as his vibranium fingers worked along my trap, down to my shoulder blade and back up my spine.
