It was the last full day in Utah before heading back to reality. Andy and I slept in since we were out after midnight with our folks.
I woke up and peeled one of my eyes open to glance around. It was a little after 8 o'clock. Andy, who was still sound asleep, was not even aware of my movements trying to get out of his embrace.
We all had planned to get breakfast at 10:30 with our families. That meant if I didn't start getting ready now, we'd be late.
I went ahead and jumped in the shower to wake myself up. It was a good tired that my body felt. Seeing my parents and sister and of course, everyone else that we love was worth the wait.
I heard the bathroom door open.
"Darling, why are you up so early?" Andy's voice whispered.
I peeked my head out of the curtain to find a sleepy bed-headed Andrew.
"Because we have brunch at 10:30 and if I don't get ready now, we're going to be late," I whispered back.
Andy sighed.
"Ok fine but we are going to come back and nap later because tomorrow at the airport is going to be a process," Andy replied as he sleepily walked to kiss me before exiting the bathroom.
I chuckled as he disappeared.
I finished my shower and headed to start my makeup.
Andy was moving more slowly than I was.
I studied him as he sat down with a cup of coffee from the tiny coffee maker we had in the room.
"What darling?" Andy asked raising one eyebrow at me.
"Nothing I just, I don't know, you look extra cute today," I mumbled as I grabbed my makeup bag.
Andy chuckled.
"I look extra cute?" Andy asked with a smile.
"Yeah you do," I replied.
"I don't if I should say thank you or kiss you right now," Andy contemplated.
"A kiss would be perfect," I said as I turned to face him.
And so, Andy got his way by kissing me.
"Is that your favorite way of thanking me?" I asked chuckling.
"Perhaps darling," Andy's voice lingered.
I chuckled and shook my head at his behavior.
"So where are we going to get breakfast?" I asked Andy as I laid my makeup out.
"That one little restaurant that is right before that huge park. It's been on my list since I planned this whole thing months ago," Andy replied proudly.
"I hope they have waffles or pancakes cause honestly, it looks like a fancy spot," I replied.
Andy chuckled.
"Darling, are waffles or pancakes not fancy enough for them to serve?" Andy asked.
"Well if it's one of those rich fancy spots, they always serve weird things like poached eggs and such and I am not a fan of poached eggs," I replied as I put my foundation on.
"Oh yeah, I don't think they serve just that darling. You are something else," Andy replied as he grabbed the TV remote.
For being a Saturday morning, nothing good was on. No re-runs that we wanted to see.
"So what else today do you have planned?" I asked Andy.
"Well if we get done by 12:00 or so, we could go to that vintage store down the street. I know you wanted to get something to remember the trip by," Andy commented.
"Oooh, we should. Also, if we are back by 2 or so, you said you wanted to nap?" I asked him.
"Yeah, we need to darling. Our flights are at 9 a.m so we have to get up early tomorrow," Andy replied.
"That's true. We are going to be zonked by tomorrow afternoon," I commented as I grabbed my face powder.
"But we can nap all afternoon," Andy replied lovingly.
"True. I feel like most of our dates are naps," I replied jokingly.
"That's the best part though. Being with each other," Andy replied.
"Good point love," I replied as I looked for my eyeshadow brush.
Here was to a beautiful breakfast with our families.
