With my dancing hobby coming to light, it was a good thing I told Andy because the next theme was partners week. I did not want to be partnered with some random stranger from the class so Andy volunteered to go with me and practice the salsa we were learning.
We were in between takes at home.
"Ok so you got to twist your hips this way when you step forward," I told him.
"Like this?" Andy demonstrated.
"Yes and then your hands have to be like this in mine," I told him as I grabbed his hands into mine.
"And then we go like this," Andy repeated the motion of the back-and-forth step.
"Perfect," I commented as we focused on each other.
We then paused so we could get the music on.
"Ok five six seven eight," I counted to myself before we started the dance routine.
"You are pretty good darling," Andy commented as we went through the dance.
"Thank you," I commented as he twirled me.
"Do the pause," Andy reminded as the song did the pause part.
"And then go again," I remarked as we went all over the living room.
"I think you were born to dance darling," Andy told me as we finished the first practice.
"You really think so?" I asked him as I grabbed some water before we rehearsed again.
"You move really well and definitely don't have two left feet," Andy told me as he grabbed some water.
"Oh well thank you love but it's just a newfound hobby," I told him as I stretched my arms a bit before we both got back into the position we needed to be in.
"Well, you do dance very well," Andy told me.
"With practice, it is getting easier," I told him with a smile.
"Ready to start again?" Andy asked me.
"Yes let's," I told him as we got our hands and arms together as the record played onto the next song.
"We should of salsa danced at the wedding," Andy commented as we moved across the living room.
I laughed.
"Love at the time I was lucky to even get out on the dance floor cause I was still so shy," I remarked.
"Now you've morphed into a beautiful butterfly," Andy told me proudly.
I smiled with a blush coming over my cheeks.
"I love you for saying that. I'm glad my growth has shown on the outside," I commented as Andy dipped me.
"Yes, I'm so proud of you darling. You've grown and blossomed," Andy told me proudly.
"That means a lot love," I replied as he brought me back up to him.
"Yes of course darling. I'm always proud of you," Andy said as he spun me as the song came to an end.
"Let's take a break?" I asked him as we paused.
"Yes sure darling," Andy told me as he ran to stop the record player.
I grabbed my water and chugged it. I was not a person who was typically active.
"So when do we have to demonstrate it in the class?" Andy asked curiously.
"I think Thursday's class next week since this week and Tuesday is all rehearsal," I replied.
"Oh good so we still have some time to practice," Andy remarked.
"Yeah that's true I mean I think we make a pretty good dance team," I told Andy happily.
"Yeah we do huh?" Andy replied with a smile.
"Duh," I told him as we fixed the coffee table back to where it belonged.
"So we practice again when?" Andy asked.
"Whenever till Tuesday," I told him as we fixed the stuff on the table.
"Sounds like a plan darling," Andy commented.
"Yeah I really hope the teacher doesn't choose us to demonstrate," I told him.
"Why darling?" Andy asked.
"Cause they may not focus on how good the dance is because of who my partner is," I replied.
"That's a good point darling but I'm sure if the teacher believes in you, then she knows," Andy told me.
"Good point love," I told him as I went to the kitchen to get more water.
Dancing my life away.
