"In god's green earth, why did my boss decide to have a Christmas at the beach-themed party?" I remarked as I finished getting ready.

"Darling it could be worse. Or it will feel like what Christmas in Australia feels like," Andy told me.

"Wait that's true. Actually, I never thought of it like that," I replied.

"The good thing is, John didn't decide to have the party on the actual beach," Andy replied as he went to put his shirt on.

"Floral red doesn't sound Christmasy to me," I remarked as I put my flower pin in my hair.

"You think I'd expect myself to be dressed ready for Hawaii for your Christmas party? No, I didn't," Andy chuckled.

The invite from John came with two leis, so, I thought it would be perfect to wear them. I went and grabbed them.

As Andy was finishing up, I looked at him while I had the lei in my hands.

Andy furrowed his eyebrows at me.

"What?" Andy asked.

"Isn't it a tradition in Hawaii that when you get a lei, the girl does this," I demonstrated as I put the lei over Andy's head and kissed his cheeks.

Andy chuckled to himself.

"That was cute darling," Andy told me.

"Do I look ok?" I asked as I adjusted the lei around my neck.

"You always look good darling," Andy told me.

I smiled.

"Shush," I told him as I went to grab my purse and put my face powder in it.

"But it's true. Now let's have a beach party," Andy remarked as he held his hand out to me.

We went downstairs and headed off to the party.

"It's not even cool out here," I complained as we walked down the porch stairs.

"Darling unfortunately 67 degrees won't feel the same as it does in Vermont," Andy told me.

"True man I cannot wait to be in Vermont in a few weeks," I told him as we got into the car.

The drive to the party was quiet. The radio was on a Christmas station. Every now and then, I'd flip it because I didn't like all the songs the Christmas songs that they played every year.

"Here we are," Andy told me as he pulled into a parking space.

John had rented out a cute little rooftop club place. It was really a cute hole-in-the-wall place.

"Ready?" Andy asked before we got out of the car.

"No but we have to go do this at least for an hour," I told him jokingly.

He kissed my hand for reassurance.

"I got you. You got me," Andy reminded me as he got out of the car.

As per usual, he was a gentleman and came around and opened my door.

"Let's plan to leave like 9:30-10?" I asked him.

"Anything you want darling you got it," Andy told me as he grabbed my hand as we walked up to the front door.

We walked in and my god it really did look like Christmas the Beach. John and his wife always had the best themes and decorations. I'm glad he didn't ask for my opinion on it.

"Hi welcome welcome!" John's wife greeted me.

"Ah, how are you?" I asked her.

"Well you know me and John are expecting again," John's wife Tiffany told me.

"No oh my gosh no John didn't tell me the rabbit died!" I told her.

She chuckled.

"I'm like 4 months along," Tiffany told us.

"I am so happy for you guys," I told her as John came over to us.

"How come you didn't tell her we were expecting?" Tiffany asked John.

I chuckled as Andy squeezed my hand.

"I didn't think it was my place yet," John chuckled.

"So your daughter Crystal is a year old?" I asked Tiffany.

"Yes and this baby boy Christopher of ours will be about 2 years younger than Crystal," Tiffany told me.

"Awww that's cute you chose C names?" I asked her.

Andy and John were lost in conversation.

"Yes, we did. I think it's cute to continue a letter tradition for your kids," Tiffany told me.

"I can't wait to be a mom," I told her.

"You will be a great one. It'll be worth the wait," Tiffany replied happily.

"Honey we better go get ready to do the speech," John told Tiffany.

"See you guys around," Tiffany told me and Andy.

"Bye," we told her.

"Soo," Andy asked me.

"What?"  I asked him.

"John told me that they are expecting," Andy told me.

"Yeah, Tiffany is really excited. It's a baby boy," I told him.

"Well I was thinking, we could try for a baby again. I mean I know the last time wasn't exactly planned but," Andy contemplated.

I looked at him and he was serious.

"You really think so? I mean," I told him.

"When the time is right," Andy told me.

I smiled at him.

"Let's go enjoy yourselves, love. Don't think I didn't understand a word you said," I told him as I kissed his hand.

He smiled at me as we went and mingled with all of my colleagues.

Perhaps Christmas would have a new meaning.
