It had been forever since I'd seen the double trouble but Johnny and Levi finally after some time conflicts were over for dinner and to see the new house.
I was in the middle of giving them a tour of the outside before showing them inside.
"You finally got your white picket fence huh?" Johnny asked as we stood by the stable.
I smiled.
"You remember that from when we had that assignment in composition class about what our life would be like 5 years in the future?" I asked him.
"Of course. You wanted to have this life and you got it and I'm really proud of you," Johnny told me.
"Thanks John. You know it's crazy how much stuff we've seen and done together since we met at the record store," I told him.
"Right like I still think back to the Jessica fiasco and look at you now," Johnny replied.
Levi was distracted by Biscuit who was playing fetch with him.
Andy was coming over to where we were.
"We can get eggs from you anytime?" Johnny asked.
"Do we have another potential egg customer?" Andy joked as he joined us.
"The more the merrier I say. I'd rather them go to our friends and family," I commented.
"I'll try and make it out here to get some then more often," Johnny told me.
"Wait you said something about eggs?" Levi asked.
I laughed.
"Yes Levi I did why?" I asked him.
Johnny and Andy were chuckling.
"I was so zoned out with Biscuit my bad," Levi commented.
"It's ok," I reassured.
"So what else does this house have?" Johnny asked.
"Well we've pretty much seen the entire backyard so let's go inside," I told them.
As we walked back up to the house, Andy grabbed my hand.
We got back inside and we started on the lower level of the house.
"So as you guys saw this is the kitchen. But look how much pantry space we have," I commented as I opened the door to our pantry.
"I remember when you had your apartment and you always complained about how small the kitchen was," Johnny commented.
"And now she has a castle to reign in," Andy joked.
I smiled.
We made our way through the lower level and lastly they looked at the bottom-level bathroom.
"Wait you have a bidet?" Levi asked.
"Yeah, we didn't know what it was. It looks like a mini toilet but it also has like an extra hose thing to clean it too," Andy replied to Levi.
"That's really fancy," Johnny remarked.
"We don't even use it," I commented.
"Well maybe it's a fun conversation piece for people who come to your house," Levi commented.
"Sort of but honestly it was funny the first night in our house. We didn't even know what it was," I remarked.
After this, we went upstairs and they were in awe of how big the upstairs was.
"Holy crap your bedroom windows are huge," Johnny observed.
"Yeah we love them," Andy replied proudly.
"And wait till you see the master bathroom," I told them.
"Double sinks?" Levi stated.
"Yes. We call it his and hers," Andy commented proudly.
"Woah the is a tub and a shower?" Johnny asked.
"Yes," I replied to Johnny.
"This house is amazing. I can't get over it," Levi remarked.
"The only downside is being farther away from you two. But KC is only a half hour away so that's nice," I told them both.
"We miss you a lot if you can't tell. I miss when you come in looking for Mills Brothers stuff," Johnny nudged Andy.
Andy chuckled.
"I gotta plan coming down soon. I need to fill my need for vinyl again soon," I replied to Johnny.
"We should plan on going to the record store this week darling," Andy told me.
"I don't see why not," I replied.
"Good I wasn't gonna tell you but there is a huge stack of Mills Brothers stuff we've been keeping," Levi remarked.
"Sold," Andy replied to Levi.
Johnny and I laughed.
"Well, what else does this house have?" Johnny asked as we left my bedroom.
"Follow me," I told them.
And so we headed for the rest of the upstairs tour before settling in the living room and chatting.
"So did I ever tell you guys that I now work for Big Boss's brother?" I asked them.
Johnny and Levi's mouths dropped wide.
"What? Spill the beans," Levi said.
Andy was in the kitchen getting us all something to drink.
"Do you remember when Big Boss would talk about John? Well, John is his brother who owns Telescopic Records," I commented as Andy entered into the living room.
"Oh really? Wait is he as weird as Dennis?" Levi asked.
I shook my head.
Johnny looked like he was in a state of shock.
"No he isn't weird and he lets us call him by his real first name not like weirdo," I replied as Andy handed me a glass of iced tea.
He went and gave the boys one too.
"That's wild," Johnny remarked.
"Right? And my husband over here had a field day when he learned Big Boss's real name was Dennis," I commented as I glanced at Andy.
"I wasn't expecting it to be Dennis He seemed to have a real macho attitude so I assumed it was something more masculine," Andy remarked as he sat down next to me.
"You told him the story right about how he was always called Denise in school right?" Johnny asked.
"Yes," I replied as I sipped my iced tea.
"I about fell over when she told me this story a while ago," Andy chuckled.
"I think it's crazy that you didn't tell him sooner," Levi commented.
"He never asked!" I defended.
"No I never did but it was worth the while," Andy joked.
"Any more tea in your part of this world?" Johnny asked me.
I shook my head.
"Same. Life is quite boring without you at the store but hey at least you are doing what you love," Johnny replied.
"Exactly. It took some time but I finally made it," I replied as Andy went and put on a record.
"To our friendship and our lives," Johnny randomly said.
"To our friendship and our lives," Levi and I chimed in.
It was nice just being here with some of the most important people in my life. Just the way old friends do, it was like no time had passed.
