"Darlinggggg it's my birthday why are you dragging me out of bed?" Andy groaned as I had him by the hand.

I was going to show him his next surprise but it required a little field trip outside.

"Your big gift well sort of," I told him as we walked down the stairs.

"It's not even 9 o'clock," Andy yawned as we went to the backdoor.

"So what? I think you'll change your mind once you see the gift," I told him.

"You having my family fly in was gift enough darling. You didn't have to do anything else," Andy remarked sweetly.

"Just hush and close your eyes," I told him.

Over the last two weeks,  I had been secretly going to ranches (with the help of KC and some other acquaintances) to look for another horse to adopt. The ranch house felt lonely without a horse so I was on a mission to find our "rainbow horse."  3 days ago, I got a call that there were 3 available for me to look at. When I walked in, 2 of them were baby horses. One immediately drew me in because of her darker mane. And so, I adopted her and named her Brownie.

As we approached the stable, Andy would definitely know what was up if Brownie was moving around in the stable. Of course, no one could replace Chestnut but I knew how much having a horse of our own meant to Andy.

"Ok, can I see now?" Andy asked as we came to a halt in our walk.

We were standing in front of the horse stable and Brownie was looking at us.

"Happy Birthday," I told him as he uncovered his eyes.

"Darling how, what, who is this beauty?" Andy asked in excitement.

"Her name is Brownie. I know nothing can replace Chestnut but I know we both could use a little extra friend around here," I remarked.

"Wow, oh my god darling you are absolutely the best," Andy commented as he went up to Brownie to let her get used to his scent and presence.

"It was nothing," I told him.

"Nothing? Darling this must have taken up so much of your time," Andy analyzed.

I shook my head.

"With a little help from KC and having someone to go with me to all these ranches, it was pretty easy," I told him proudly.

"This was totally worth getting out of bed before 9 o'clock," Andy joked.

"So you like her? I was worried," I admitted.

"Darling, you have made this birthday extra special," Andy told me proudly.

I smiled at him.

"I just wanted this birthday to be an extra special one cause of everything that has happened already this year. I wanted to do something grand," I told him as he came up to me.

"You do know how to make me feel special," Andy commented as he stole a few kisses from me.

Brownie, as if she was human, made some noises as we kissed.

I chuckled as I pulled away from Andy.

"Someone's always got something to say," I remarked rolling my eyes.

"Yeah yeah but at least I still can do this," Andy remarked kissing me deeper this time.

I smiled as I pulled away.

"Happy birthday love," I whispered.

"This is probably the best birthday I've ever had," Andy told me.

"27 is your year," I told him.

"Our year," Andy told me happily.

"Now that you've seen your big surprise, how about I make you breakfast?" I asked him as I held my hand out to him.

"Don't mind if you do," Andy replied as we clasped hands as we walked back to the house.

"Also, Brownie is like a year or so old, and the rancher said she is ready for rides and stuff," I told him as we walked up the patio stair.

Andy sighed contently.

"I'm so thankful for you," Andy told me as we entered the house.

I went to wash up before making his breakfast.

"When are our reservations for dinner?" Andy asked.

"I made them for 4 so we could get home by 7 or so," I told him.

"But my family will probably come at 1:30 or so I can open gifts right?" Andy asked.

"Yes," I chuckled.

"Today is going to be so nice," Andy remarked as he grabbed his coffee cup and topped his mug off.

"It will be. Now birthday boy, what would you like for your breakfast?" I asked as I stood by the fridge.

Andy paused and thought for a second.

"Eggs and bacon sound good," Andy told me.

"That's it? You don't want anything else?" I asked him.

"Well," Andy wiggled his eyebrows.

"Honey, not this morning please," I remarked embarrassed.

Andy smirked at me.

"In all honesty darling, no I just want a small breakfast," Andy told me.

"Since we are going to Santa Monica pier, I assume we are gonna munch on the pier before we go to dinner with your folks," I told Andy as I got the bacon and eggs out of the fridge.

"I really want to get a pretzel at that one place on the pier," Andy told me.

"Oooh that sounds good," I told him as I started laying the bacon in a pan.

Andy wrapped his arms around me from behind.

"Thank you for making today the absolute best darling," Andy told me lovingly.

"You know I'd do anything for you," I told him as I finished laying the bacon in the pan.

Andy kissed my cheek.

"I love this but I gotta wash my hands," I told him with a chuckle.

"Oh shoot right," Andy let go of me so I went to the sink.

"And how would you like your eggs?" I asked Andy as I dried my hands.

"However is fine darling you know I'm not picky," Andy told me.

"Ok," I told him happily.

Here was to a beautiful day to celebrate my Andy.
