Since things had settled down and everything was looking up, I had the chance to have Levi and Johnny over for lunch at my house. They were discussing the things they had overheard at the record store. Andy was off doing his own thing.
"I just don't think of myself in that way," I told them.
They had heard that I was a celebrity and people were acting crazy about things as usual. Especially the teenage girls who loved Andy and didn't like the fact he was married after 2 years.
"But it's funny people come into the record store and they are like "is this the store that (Y/N) Gibb worked at?" Then they proceed to take photos and post with stuff and then half the time, they never even buy anything," Johnny explained.
I laughed.
"I cannot believe anything you are saying right now. Are you pulling my leg?" I asked him.
Levi was just sitting there focused on Biscuit who was rolling on the floor.
"I ain't lying right Levi," Johnny said as he tried to get his attention.
"Huh? No, he isn't lying people want to meet you," Levi told me.
I just stared at them like they were crazy.
"Big Boss said it would be good publicity if you thought about doing some sort of meet and greet at the store," Johnny commented quietly.
I burst into a fit of laughter.
"A-are you kidding me? I love you two but Big Boss cannot expect me to be used like this," I told him as I reached for my glass.
"We've explained that to him but ya know how he gets set in his ways. I'll tell him I told you and that's it," Johnny told me.
"I'm just a little bit, well how do you say it, shocked?" I commented.
"I told him no but dude he is so persistent when he gets his ideas going," Levi told him.
"And I assume no one else has been hired in my place still after 5ish months?" I asked them.
"Why would he?" was Johnny's comment.
"He knows that no one can be better than you," Levi replied.
"I want you both to know that whatever he tries to tell ya to try and convince me, I ain't coming back. I have a few interviews left to do and I should have my foot in the door at either Warner Records or A&M Records soon," I replied to them.
"We know you have moved on to bigger and better things but we just needed you to know the gossip," Johnny commented.
I laughed. That's all we truly did gossiping at that record store.
"I like how you think John," I told him.
It was getting closer to 4 and Levi and Johnny begin getting up to head out.
"We gotta do this again soon," I told them as we walked to the front door.
"Yes we miss you," Johnny told me as he went for a hug.
"I miss you guys too," I said as I hugged Levi.
"Don't be a stranger," Levi told me.
"I promise I won't," I said as I took my pinky out.
"See you later kid," Johnny told me as he walked out of the house with Levi.
And like that, my best friends were on their way back home. Andy had yet to arrive though it was 4 o'clock.
"I wonder where he could be?" I mumbled to myself as I let Biscuit out to the backyard.
I went ahead and got dinner started as I wanted it to be almost done when he got home.
Today, I was going for something simple since I had made a big lunch for Johnny and Levi.
So, we went ahead and made chicken and salad.
I was merrily in the kitchen whistling and doing my favorite thing as a housewife: cooking for my husband.
When I finally glanced at the clock, it was 4:45. Andy was barely pulling into the driveway.
"Darling I'm home," Andy called from the front door.
I wiped my hands off and headed to greet him at the door.
"Hi love," I commented as he went in for a kiss.
"Sorry I was stuck at the tennis club for a while. A few people caught wind I was there," Andy told me as he pulled away and headed to the bedroom.
"Oh no really?" I asked as I followed him to the bedroom.
"The clerk desk person sort of went into shock and then everyone else snapped at who I was," Andy commented.
"You went to the tennis club to?" I asked him.
"To pay my dues and also buy a parking spot," Andy replied.
"When do I get to watch ya serve up a match?" I asked him curiously.
"How about this weekend? We can maybe make a date out of it. I know you know how to play tennis darling," Andy replied as he went to grab some sweats to change into.
"We can plan for that. I'm not the best at it but I can do pretty good I think," I told him as I waited for him to come out of the bathroom from changing.
"You are a lucky shot," Andy commented as he came out over to where I was by the bed.
"I am?" I asked chuckling.
"Yeah you are," Andy replied winking.
I covered my face as he came and wrapped his arms around me.
"You're being silly again," Andy whispered.
"I get embarrassed easily," I told him.
"From me winking at you?" Andy asked chuckling.
"Sort of," I told him chuckling.
Andy laughed and shook it off.
"Not to change the subject but what is for dinner?" Andy asked as I could hear his stomach growling.
"Chicken salad," I replied as we walked out of the bedroom.
"That sounds perfect darling," Andy replied as he grabbed my hand as we walked to the kitchen.
"I didn't know what else we could eat so I resorted to this," I told him as I gestured towards the counter.
"I'm starving," Andy joked.
"Well let's eat then," I told him.
"You know the way to my heart," Andy replied jokingly.
"Yes through your stomach," I replied as I grabbed glasses out of the cabinet.
Here was to a quiet evening with my man.
