Chapter 55

With the new chapter beginning, we found our way finally to hosting a housewarming party. Though my family could not make it on such short notice, a few people Andy knew in the business in addition to Karen and Olivia were here. 

Andy's sister Berri and his parents also were there. 

Karen and I were currently in the kitchen while she watched me refill the dip and chips bowl. 

"This kitchen is so nice. I should have waited for my remodel and used this as inspo," Karen told me.

I smiled.

"I would have never guessed when we went shopping at Sears that day, I would be living in a new place less than 2 months later," I told her as I grabbed the serving dish and went back out to the living room.

Everyone was conversing with their own circle. Andy was talking to his guitar guy for shows.

Andy's parents noticed my re-entrance to the living room and came over to where I was.

"This house is lovely (Y/N). I hope you and Andy have many happy times here," Barbara told me.

"Aw well thank you Mrs. Gibb," I told her as I put the chip and dip thing on the table.

Karen had disappeared to talk to Olivia.

"How long did you know you two were gonna move?" Hugh asked.

"Honestly, it wasn't that long. Andy had an idea of wanting to put a payment down on this place before I even knew it was up for sale. But once we came and looked at this property, it was like it was meant to be," I told Hugh.

"It's a really beautiful property. The trees in the backyard are really nice and we saw the barn and such. Are you going to adopt any animals?" Barbara asked.

"Well, actually we were looking into adopting a horse. Andy and I love the idea of having a few animals like that but not a whole ranch or farm-style house," I told her.

"If you get chickens, let us know. We will take some of those eggs off your hands," Hugh joked.

I chuckled.

"Andy wants to get some. I just got to get used to the idea of cleaning chicken coops," I told him jokingly.

"That's the husband's job! The dirty jobs is his duty," Barbara commented.

I laughed.

"Good point Mrs. Gibb," I told her.

She chuckled and shook her head.

"Also darling why do you call me Mrs. Gibb? Just call me Barbara," she gently reminded me.

"Right right. I just like being proper," I told her.

"Your kindness doesn't go unnoticed," Hugh commented.

I smiled.

Just about this time, Andy came up to us.

"Hi, lovey. Hi mum and dad," Andy told me as he kissed my cheek.

I definitely blushed as he did so.

"We were just talking about how you guys might be getting chickens," Hugh told Andy.

"Oh?" Andy asked chuckling.

"Yeah but son you got to do the dirty work if you do adopt some. She's a lady," Hugh said winking at me.

Andy laughed.

"Well yeah I mean I would clean the coop out for the chickens if and when we adopt em," Andy told us.
