After pleading and convincing, Andy planned a trip for our wedding anniversary. We were going to go to Lake Tahoe for the weekend. I was honestly surprised and lowkey excited. As long as I've lived in California I've rarely gone to Lake Tahoe.
"We will go on a kayak tour and then I've also booked a sunset hike as well," Andy explained to me as we drove home from work.
My car was in the shop for a few days due to some sort of connection breaking between the gas tank and the engine itself.
"Ooooh a sunset hike? That sounds different," I remarked.
"I thought it would be nice and plus a sunset at a lake is just a different perspective," Andy told me.
"I literally cannot wait love," I told him excitedly.
"So how was work?" Andy asked to keep the conversation going.
"Well, them damn Vipers submitted another tape and I think I'm literally going to just pre-type up some rejection letters for them. They have sent like 10 demo tapes in a month's time," I told Andy.
Andy laughed.
"Oh damn I'm sorry darling," Andy stifled his laughter.
"It's honestly the worst having to reject someone," I told him.
"I get it. It really must be hard but them Viper Rattlesnakes were a no-brainer not to sign," Andy remarked.
"Yeah true," I told Andy.
"How's it going for Johnny?" Andy inquired.
"Good good his single came out like 4 days ago? So we are pushing at getting some TV appearances and some radio air play going too," I told him.
"Is the single in stores?" Andy asked.
"Yep definitely at the record store cause we managed to score a little "meet the new artist Johnny Sanchez" sort of meet and greet deal with Big Boss," I told him.
"Big Boss is actually being, well, nice?" Andy asked sort of shocked.
"Yep, that's what I said when John came into my office this morning. I was like are you for real?" I replied chuckling.
Andy laughed.
"Good reaction darling. Oh did I mention darling that I also booked us a 2-hour sailing cruise as well?" Andy asked me.
"Ooh no you didn't how exciting," I remarked.
Andy loved being near water. Heck, I did too. It was healing for some reason.
"So that will be on Saturday morning the weekend of the trip," Andy replied.
"Okie dokie love," I told him happily.
As we pulled up to the house, I felt relieved knowing we were home for the night.
"Home sweet home," Andy remarked as we walked into the house.
"I just wish it would feel more like fall," I complained.
"Inside it does, but that 78-degree mark on the thermometer outside says otherwise," Andy told me as he bumped the AC on.
"Oh that air feels so good," I remarked as I stood over the floor vent.
Andy looked at me like I was crazy.
"What? I need to cool off," I told him.
"I'm not even gonna question you," Andy chuckled as he walked up the stairs.
I rolled my eyes at Andy as I enjoyed staying under the AC vent for a moment.
I decided I should get my butt in gear and went upstairs to get comfortable.
Andy was in the middle of changing.
"Sorry love," I remarked as I turned away.
"Darling you are so funny," Andy chuckled as he tied his sweatpants.
"I just have respect that's all," I commented as he came up to me.
"Don't ever change the way you are," Andy told me.
"What naive and dumb?" I asked.
Andy shook his head.
"No not naive and dumb. Just being the pure soul you are. You are too good to this world," Andy told me lovingly.
"I plead the fifth," I joked as I went to look for some comfy clothes.
"Of course you do," Andy remarked as he rolled his eyes.
"Duh," I remarked as I went to change in the bathroom.
After, I came back out to find Andy sprawled on the bed.
"What are you doing," I chuckled as I walked over to him.
"Realizing how fucking big this damn bed is," Andy commented.
"You take up only this much space like I do," I told him.
"I still think it was a good investment. For the most part," Andy remarked as he readjusted and sat up on his side of the bed.
"It was a great investment. Plus, I don't have to worry about falling on the floor," I told him.
"Like you would actually roll off the bed? I don't think that's possible darling," Andy told me.
"With my clumsiness and not paying attention who knows," I told him as I joined him on the bed.
"I cannot with you sometimes darling," Andy remarked as he looked at me.
"I know that's the best part," I remarked as I winked at him.
"Just shut up and come here," Andy remarked as he mentioned for me to join him closer.
I sighed as life had a nice feel to it for once.
