I was currently in our little music room. It had been months since I even attempted to try and play the drums. But, since I got done with housework early, I went and sat down and decided to try and practice.
I was a bit rusty not gonna lie. It wasn't like I could play like KC by no means but I mean I was good at the idea of making noise I suppose.
I was fully concentrated on practicing from the book how to incorporate the floor beats into mixing it with a hi-hat hit.
I worked on this for maybe 30 minutes before Andy waltzed in.
"So this is where you've been," Andy chuckled.
I paused and put my drumsticks down.
"Did it sound bad?" I asked as I went to where Andy was standing.
"No not at all darling. I'm surprised you decided to practice the drums. You haven't played in months," Andy replied as he stole a kiss from me.
"It's been pretty crazy this last year or so. From Chestnut to our own inner demons, you would have thought I would have been playing them during that time to distract myself but I didn't," I told him as I went to sit back at the drums.
"Have you ever sang and played? I know you got a pretty voice," Andy allured as he watched me.
I laughed at him.
"Love, are you crazy?" I asked him.
Andy looked at me like I was crazy.
"No I'm not I think you have a beautiful voice and I'm sad you don't use it more often," he told me.
I definitely felt a blush coming on.
"I wouldn't have had you record that one song a few years back with me if you didn't know how to carry a tune," Andy told me as he just watched me mess with the cymbals.
"You are probably right," I told him.
"Probably? I know I am. One hundred percent in fact I am right," Andy told me as he sat down and just watched with pride.
I just messed around on the drums for another good 10 minutes before deciding to call it quits.
"I think you need to practice more. You got the magic touch," Andy told me as we exited the room.
"I think that's very sweet of you love," I told him with a smile.
"Of course, I know talent when I see it," Andy told me matter-of-factly.
I chuckled at his comment as we went downstairs. It was only a little after 2 so I decided to go get some fresh air.
"Where are you headed?" Andy asked curiously.
"To sit on our front porch," I told him as I went and opened the backdoor.
Andy smiled as he followed me out to the porch.
I sat down on the swing and Andy joined. As we sat and swayed on the swing, Andy found his way to hold my hand.
He snuggled up against me as we stayed going back and forth.
"We got a Sunday kind of love don't we?" I asked to break the silence.
Andy chuckled before replying.
"I think that's the best way to describe it. A Sunday kind of love," Andy told me proudly.
"I always think that or perhaps a Perry Como kind of love," I told him.
"Like Magic Moments or because I love you so?" Andy asked.
"Yes exactly," I told him as he gently squeezed my hand for reassurance.
I smiled as he kissed my forehead.
I turned to face him and he had this giant goofy grin on his face.
I traced his face with my free hand.
"What," Andy asked with that same silly grin.
"I just don't know," I told him.
He leaned in and took advantage of the moment and kissed me.
"I'm glad the scruff doesn't tickle you anymore," Andy chuckled as he pulled away.
"I got used to it and you look very mature," I winked.
Andy held his hand to his heart.
"Oh you flatter me darling," Andy commented a bit dramatically.
"Shut up," I told him.
"Gladly," Andy remarked as he leaned in for another kiss.
"Is that our love language? Kisses?" I asked him as he pulled away again.
"Of course I got to show you how much I love you," Andy told me.
"Awwww," I remarked with a little bit of puppy dog eyes at him.
"Always stealing my heart," Andy remarked as he found my hand to hold.
A Sunday kind of love was nice.
