That night after talking to Y/N, Thor set out to retrieve Loki on earth. Heimdall sent him to the exact location where Loki was. When Thor got to Loki, he was in a S.H.I.E.L.D plane. Loki infiltrated a S.H.I.E.L.D base where the tesseract was. In retrieving the space stone, Loki was able to turn a few of the agents with his scepter. More agents start to surround him. Loki knew he was going to get caught so he sent the turned agents off with the stone. Eventually he knew he would find a way escape custody and return to the turned agents and the tesseract.
Thor took him off the plane and took him to a nearby woods. He just wanted to talk to him. Why was Loki going after the tesseract? What was he doing all these years when everyone thought he was dead? When Thor got to Loki, he did not have the tesseract with him. Thor knew if he needed make sure the tesseract was safe and secure. The tesseract should come back to Asgard along with Loki. Thor throws Loki to the ground.
Thor: where is the tesseract?
Loki: It's good to see you to brother.
Thor: Loki, I am in no mood.
Loki: Thanks for getting me off the plane, but I have things to do.
Loki starts to get up from the ground and Thor grabs him forcefully. He cannot let his brother go anywhere. He loves his brother but he needs to answer for his crimes and explain why he needs the tesseract.
Thor: I can't believe you. We all thought you were dead.
Loki: Did you mourn?
Thor: We all did. You're my brother.
Loki: Really? After everything?
As Thor is talking to Loki, trying to get through to him, he is interrupted by someone in a metal suit. Thor is flung into the woods. After fighting each other for a few moments, they agree that Loki needs to be locked up in a S.H.I.E.L.D base until the tesseract is found. So Thor grabs Loki and goes with the man in the metal suit. They hop on the plane where Loki was initially and were transported to a S.H.I.E.L.D helicarrier base. On the helicarrier, Thor officially met Tony Stark, Bruce Banner, Natasha Romanoff, and Steve Rogers.
The next day, Thor is still not back from Earth. Y/N is spending the day with her daughter, Thena. The day Y/N gave birth to Thena, Y/N knew she was special. Thena was the first daughter to be born in awhile into the family. While Magni and Modi are always doing something together, Thena keeps to herself mostly. Thena has always found creatures and animals fascinating. She cares deeply for all living things. Frigga and Y/N spend the most time with her.
Thena: Mom, I'm worried about grandmother. Is she okay?
Y/N: Your grandmother has been sick for a few years now.
Thena: Is there a way to help her mother? Grandmother is my best friend.
Thor and Y/N have kept the news of Frigga's sickness from their children. Even though she's had this sickness for years, she doesn't let it stop her from doing anything. On the outside Frigga looks healthy, but in the inside she is dying. Thena picked up on that.
Y/N: We're trying everything we can darling.
The thought of loosing Frigga like she lost Loki frightens her. Frigga has been in her life for thirteen years. Frigga has guided her, has been there for her, and has been a mother figure for Y/N. She wouldn't be who she is without Frigga.
Thena: Are you okay mother?
Y/N: I am. My beautiful caring girl. Thank for checking in. Anything else on your mind?
Thena: I miss father.
Two days later, Thor finally retrieved both Loki and the tesseract. Everyone at S.H.E.I.L.D agreed that the tesseract should not be on earth. Many people lost their lives in the fight against Loki. Loki put in a good fight against his brother, S.H.I.E.L.D, and earth's mightiest heroes. But in the end Loki lost. Thor and Loki then together go back to Asgard where Loki will face sentencing for his crimes.
Loki is quite nervous to go back to Asgard. For one, he knows he'll either be put in the dungeons for the rest of his life or he'll be sentenced to death. His list of crimes has grown over the years since he's been off Asgard; Treason, murder, etc. Second, Loki has to face Y/N when he gets back to Asgard. He hasn't seen her in thirteen years. She's the queen now. He hopes Y/N is still the women he fell in love with but who knows. All Loki knows is that he is still madly in love with her. Being apart for thirteen years doesn't change that.
