A few days later, Odin is in the courtyard with Magni and Modi watching them learn how to fight. One of the many tasks Thor gave his father was to oversee all training areas. Before heading to oversee the training, Odin met with Heimdall to discuss an urgent matter. Once Odin met with Heimdall, he knew he needed to talk to Thor immediately.
Thor and Y/N are in a royal meeting. During the meeting, a guard comes up to Thor and tells him that his father is summoning him to the courtyard. Thor gets up and excuses himself from the meeting. Y/N will now lead the royal meeting since Thor is leaving. Y/N doesn't know why Thor is leaving the meeting but this isn't the first time and it certainly won't be the last time Thor leaves a meeting. The meeting must continue either way.
Thor: Excuse me everyone, I am needed in the courtyard.
Thor then walks down to the courtyard to meet his father. Thor knows his father would never interrupt a meeting unless it was important. Thor just has a feeling that there will be bad news coming from his father.
Odin: My son, I know you were in a meeting. Thank you for meeting me.
Thor walks up to where his father is standing and looks out into the courtyard. He watches his sons practice. He's very proud of his sons and how hard they have been practicing over the years. Thor smiles at them. They are Gods and definitely need to start acting like it. Thor knows both his sons have the potential to be great fighters and both have a chance to be king one day.
Odin: Magni and Modi are doing great with their training.
Thor: I'm glad they are doing well. Why did you call me down here father?
Odin: There is a situation on Midgard. Heimdall came to me while you were in the meeting.
Thor's smile drops instantly. As the King of Asgard, Thor is in charge of all of the nine realms. Midgard is one of the realms that Thor must keep in order. When there is a situation on any of the nine realms, Thor must take care of it. Thor just wants to keep order and peace within the nine realms. That's all he ever wanted.
Odin: Your brother has the tesseract. I fear that this will start a war on Earth if you do not stop him.
It takes a few seconds too process what his father said. Thor is shocked that his brother is alive. How could he not know for thirteen years that Loki was alive? He loved, loves his brother. He forgave his brother a long time ago for whatever he was planning thirteen years ago. He can't believe he is alive.
Thor: Loki is alive? How could this be?
Odin: It seems that he did not fall into space like we thought he did. Heimdall is sure Loki used his magic to make sure we didn't know he was alive.
Thor: I can't believe this. I will go retrieve Loki on Earth. Hopefully without a fight.
Odin: It is important for Loki to be brought back to Asgard and face his sentencing. Be prepared for a fight. Your brother always has tricks up his sleeve.
Thor knows he needs to head to earth immediately. The rainbow bridge and Bifrost was rebuilt a few years after Thor destroyed it. Thor will use the Bifrost to get to Earth and will retrieve his brother. Thor doesn't know how long he will be gone but he is going to assume it is going to take a few days to get his brother.
Odin: I will keep training with your boys and help Y/N if needed in your absence.
Thor wants to keep the news of his brother being alive a secret for now until he brings him back to Asgard. Thor, of course, needs to tell Y/N he will be gone for a few days but Thor is only going to tell Y/N he needs to take care of a situation on earth. Thor leaves the courtyard and goes to talk to Y/N before he leaves to go get Loki.
