Chapter Thirty-Eight

When Shiho wakes up, Mikey is standing over her, gently shaking her.

"Jirou? What's wrong?" Shiho asks, rubbing her eyes.

"Takemicchi said that he wanted to meet with me, and that you had spent a while looking for him," Mikey says. "What does he mean?"

Shiho sits up. "I'll let him tell the whole story, but, since I'm up now, I'll come with you."

"Are you sure?" Mikey asks.

"Yeah, I'll be fine," she says, stretching her arms as she stands. "Let's go!"

"Mucho is the traitor?" Mikey mutters. "Did you know before this?" He looks at Shiho blankly.

"No, but I had a bad feeling about him," Shiho says. "He always just seemed off."

"Yeah, and, in this conflict, the first division will retrieve Koko no matter what," Takemichi says.

Shiho looks at Mikey, who's expression is flat. Shiho, at the very least, thinks this is a good thing. Mikey doesn't because he's...a little possessive, but Takemichi having a Division be that loyal to him is good.

Especially since he can't throw a punch worth a shit, even with Shiho's help.

But he has gotten better, she gives him that. He's just...struggling.

"Inui?" Inui perks at Mikey's voice. "Any idea when Tenjiku will attack us?"

"Tomorrow is the Black Dragon's eleventh birthday," Inui says. "For someone like Izana, who idealised Shinichiro~kun...that day is special."

Mikey raises a brow. "So...tomorrow?"

"I'm sure of it," Inui says.

Shiho cups her chin in thought.

That's so much sooner than I had expected!

"Okay," he says. "Gather everyone in Touman! We need to prepare for tomorrow's battle. This will be our final assembly."

"Yessir!" All of the First Division members walk away, leaving Mikey and Shiho alone.

"This is the last one?" Shiho asks. She cracks a smile. "For them, you mean, right?"

Mikey hums and looks at Shiho.

"I know your plan," Shiho says. "And I'm not letting you do it on your own."

"They don't need to be around me too much longer," Mikey says, looking at his open palm. "And you shouldn't either."

"Jirou, you know as well as I do, it's too late now. And besides, I'm happy having them as friends, but I'm content with being in a gang. And more than that I want to stay with you."

The corners of Mikey's lips turn upwards into a smirk. "I love you, but you're so stupid sometimes."

   Shiho laughs and takes Mikey's hand. "It's all in my charm, you know~?"

   "The emergency meeting of Touman versus Tenjiku will now start!" Draken snaps.

   "Everyone needs to listen carefully!" Shiho shouts. "Today, on February twenty second, Touman will be entering all out war with Tenjiku. Get ready, because Tenjiku is not going to fuck around. They see themselves as a true criminal organization. They will not hesitate to play dirty!"

   "Then Touman should do the same!" Hakkai snaps, stepping towards the front of the crowd. "Fuck them up with dirty tricks!"

   "Hakkai?" Takemichi asks.
