Chapter Twenty-Three

"You're going to hang out with Kenchin for a while, right?" Mikey asks Shiho as she ties her combat boots. She looks up at him.

"Yeah," Shiho says. "I'll give you some space today. Though I'm sure you'll miss me so much!" Shiho teases with a laugh. Mikey pecks her cheek.

"Of course I will," Mikey says.

"You can't be cute when I'm teasing you like that."

"Huh? Why not? It's cute seeing you embarrassed."

Shiho pouts, face blossoming pink. "I hate that you have the right to say things that embarrass me now."

Mikey smiles and waves her off. "Don't be late. And tell Kenchin I said hi!"

"I will. I love you!"

"Love you too," Mikey mutters. Shiho laughs, but runs down the street. It takes a while to get to Draken's place from Mikey's. When she finally gets to the building she has to wait for the elevator.

"Damn how popular this building is!" Shiho mutters to herself when she finally gets in the elevator. She waits patiently.

When she gets up to the fourteenth floor, Remi stands there. She starts to smile until she sees who it is. "Oh, Shiho~Chan," she says, turning around. She takes a short drag of her cigarette. "You here for Kenny?"

Shiho nods. "Is he home yet?"

"Yeah," she says. "He brought a friend over and left him in the waiting room like a dumbass."

Shiho laughs, already sure she knows who this friend is and what happened. "He brought someone over other than me or Jirou?"

"Yeah," Remi says. She laughs a bit. "It surprised me too. Did something happen?"

Shiho doesn't say anything for a moment. "Yeah, you could say that." She waves a bit to Remi, greeting some of the other girls she passes on the way to Draken's room.

"...all precious to me," Shiho hears Draken say as she gets closer to his room. She stops and stands against the closed door. "If anything happened to them..." Draken's voice trails. Shiho wonders who he's talking about. "I wanted to kill Kazutora, too. I know that's wrong, but...still. I wanna thank you. For stopping Mikey. And...for calming Shiho down. If you hadn't noticed her friend was still alive...I don't know what would've happened. Hell, Mitsuya and I couldn't even do anything. So thank you, Takemicchi."

Shiho smiles a bit to herself. She pushes herself off the door. She can't help but feel bad. She'd heard briefly from Takemichi over the phone what could've happened. Apparently Etsu was who he meant would get hurt. Etsu was supposedly alive in the future he came from, and was a member of the Mafia still.

Shiho places her hand on the doorknob. She throws the door open, scaring Takemichi and making Draken glare at her. "You fuckers ain't jerking each other off, are ya?"

"Shiho~Chan!" Takemichi says. He lunged forward hugs her, making her falter.

"What the hell?" Shiho asks, shoving Takemichi off by his face. "It hasn't been that long since I've seen you."

"But you've been in and out of the hospital!"

"I've been going because they wanted to check up on my concussion! I'm fine now, aside from a few bruises," Shiho says. "Oh, by the way, Ken~Chan, while I'm thinking about it, I've gotta tell you something."

"Okay."

"Should I leave?" Takemichi asks.

Shiho looks over at him. "Nah, it's not a secret or anything. To be honest, I'm surprised Jirou isn't screaming it from the rooftops." Draken and Takemichi both give her a quizzical look.
