She closed her eyes allowing the refreshing fog to brush over her as her stead darted across the field of green. They seemed to be in the middle of nowhere but Mera knew where she was going until the stars left her view.
She had to now rely on human interaction to find out where she was going. Something of which she sucked at.
Mera rubbed her tired eyes as she raced on, further and further from the 'home' she knew her entire life. The road ahead is filled with uncertainty, but Mera was determined to thrive no matter the circumstance.
Mera could barely keep her eyes open as she sighed. Her horse was tired and they desperately needed rest.
She directed her horse to stop as Angus huffed and halted. Mera practically fell from her horse as she laid on the grass, her chest heaving up and down as she took deep breaths. There had been a small stream with a small lone tree next to them as Mera got up and grabbed the reins, taking Angus to the water.
While her Dornish stead drank his fill, Mera tore her dress off, unpinned her crown and changed into a suit and skirt with trousers underneath as she cleaned her face of the blood and dirt.
Mera took her crown and placed all her jewelry and emblems of the monarchy into her bag as she took out a black hard leather water skin and filled it before sitting down by a lone tree as she allowed Angus to graze.
Mera looked at the morning landscape of the riverlands as she smiled. She was ready for anything and she felt amazing.
Mera then took out the ripped pages from the books before putting them into order and subject as she straightened everything out.
Mera changed her gloves with a pair of soft leather ones as she tore off her worn and ruined sheer gloves off, washing her hands in the small stream and pulling her new gloves on.
She braided her hair again before pinning her braids back as she took the moonstone ring her father gave her and placed it into a small box that once contained her hair pins before taking her black tulle dress and starting a fire. Mera threw the shimmering black dress into it, burning it as tears arose from the smoke that came from the fire.
Mera wiped a tear off her face as she then dug a small hole, placing the small ebony box inside. Meranyce Velaryon had to die if she wanted to get anywhere in life.
The world needed to believe the lie that she had died if she wanted do anything outside the Keep.
She sniffled as she covered the box with dirt before mounting her horse and taking one more look at the place where her ring laid.
That was the last memory of her father. Even the glasses she brought with her were replaced with a pair of ones from the maesters storage room. The pearl framed ones with silver had been left back at King's Landing as every notion and thought of Laenor Velaryon was erased from her.
"Let's go."
She nudged her horse in the side before galloping off as the sun peered over the clouds, breaking the night. Mera sighed as she saw a farmer in the fields.
She cleared her throat, mustering up the courage to talk to people.
"Sir!"
He looked up, taking his hat off with a cheery smile. "Ello!"
"Is this the road it Tumbleton?"
"Yes ma'am!"
Mera patted her horse. "Thank you!"
She quickly raced off as her braids flowed behind her. Mera would make it into the city before noon as she looked about the bustling market.
She bought a black hood as she covered her face before she dismounted her horse and led him about the city.
