you have 2 friend requests. my face book account flashed at me when I loaded on the very next morning before school.
Nial Pain - Accept!
Tia Cheung - ...accept, I suppose...
I knew a girl at school called Tia... right? Meh, what did it matter? My head hurt too much to care and my whole brain felt as if it was throbbing. Breakfast was, it would be fair to say, even more than 'a-little-awkward.' As my mom got Nat ready I ate slowly and in total silence; she refused to stop looking my way had a seemingly permanent grimace plastered on her face.
This though, I didn't endure before an agonizing shower. The hot water and, usually, soft soap burned in my cuts and mulled around in the painful scabs that were forming all over my skin. I had been hoping that the nearly luminous bruises that were also scattered across my body would have dampened down... no such luck. They were even brighter than before and I had managed to find even more of them in places I didn't even know I had places! Despite this though, the water felt nice and it relaxed my tense body from a night of painful, restless sleep.
That little break from harsh realization though, couldn't and wouldn't last long as my mom called up the stairs warning me that I was already late for school... and my first class was - ugh - physics!
It was already a good day...
"For goodness sake, Delilah! Where have you been? You are almost half and hour late? Why? Where have you been?" My frustrating, high pitched, mousy, physics teacher shouted at me, demanding answers.
"I had an accident last night." I mumbled, "I almost got hit by a car... it was nothing. Sorry."
"Yes, I should think you are sorry! Are you terminally ill?" She asked - her name said it all really: Mrs. Littlemouse. It sounded almost sweet, I, on the other hand, felt quite to the contrary.
"No." I replied, sheepishly, my fists automatically clenching under my sleeves.
"Well, is a member of your family dying?"
"No."
"Are you dying?" She asked, stepping forward, really pissing me off - who did she think she was?
"No - but I wish I was!" I said, under my breath; I was angry but not stupid enough to say that so she could hear. It wasn't like I needed any other trouble in my life. Things were hard enough.
"Good. Well, I shall expect to see you after school. Yes?" She said, but got no reply from me as I shrugged to my seat. "Yes?" She repeated, louder.
"Yes!" I spat, not looking her way but falling into my seat as I did into my imagination.
Physics seemed particularly boring and it made even less sense than usual. How could all of this science be so strongly believed in but other... things... weren't, when they were just as real? How? I couldn't concentrate on anything other than the small... problem at hand.
My imagination, no matter how hard I concentrated on other issues, continued to wander back to those two bloodied fangs and then how blood had appealed to the... other me. The thing that was most burned into my mind, imprinted you could say, was his eyes. His two burning, hot, golden brown eyes. They were just so stunning and, and breath taking.
"...Lilah? Lilah? You coming or not?" Hannah asked me, waving her delicate, pale hand in front of my face to catch my attention. She was stood gawking at me next to Tasha who, also staring, wore a very similar expression on her face.
"Hmm, what?" I asked, jumping nearly from my seat.
"You coming?" She repeated, giving me a confused, almost frightened look.
"Oh, yeah..." I sighed, and stood, scraping my things off of the desk into my large, tan leather bag. "Sorry." I muttered, avoiding eye contact with either of my friends.
"What's up with you?" Hannah asked, quietly. "You've been... off for the whole lesson... and whats with all these bruises?" She added, pointing at my slightly exposed neck and wrists curiously.
"Oh, well... I, um, I almost got hit by a car." I said, still not looking into her eyes. Neither of those sets of eyes ahead of me.
"Seriously?" Tasha interjected, her voice scared and shocked. "Are you okay?" She asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine... I was just out for a pizza and then it happened. It was nothing. Lets go, I need some air, I still feel a little sick from yesterday." I scurried from the room, very closely followed by both Tasha and Hannah.
"And where do you think you are going?" Mrs Littlemouse asked sternly.
"Nowhere..." I sighed, bracing myself for the long-hall.
