It had been five weeks since the world ended. Half the population had been wiped away, by a thing we now called Walkers. It was some kind of sickness, that's still about all we knew. That's how it started and you ain't you no more if it happens to you. Now you so much as get scratched or bit by one of these things and that's it. That's the end for you. It's a terrifying world to live in.I had gone on a supply run with some of our group we had joined together with. Glenn, Andrea, Merle, T-Dog, Jacqui, and Morales. As we were gathering supplies with the others, Glenn and I watched a single man attract a whole hoard of walkers by riding in on a horse. He was a dead man. We heard several gunshots as he ran underneath the tank which was abandoned by the military. The walkers began crawling underneath to get at him. The sounds would only lure more into the area and that meant bad news for us.
We suddenly heard another shot that echoed like it had come from inside the tank. Sure enough the man's head had popped out from the top of the tank seemingly unharmed. We scoffed in disbelief and saw the walkers begin to crawl up the tank, climbing on top of one another. He went back down inside closing the hatch above him, shutting himself in.
"We have to do something." I said concerned.
"I mean, he's dead already. What do you want to do?" Glenn asked in disbelief.
"I don't know." I huffed and thought for a moment. "Look, the walkers are distracted by the horse. We could try to guide him out... Wait, where's the radio? There should be a radio inside the tank. We can try and connect with it and communicate with that." I pointed out and Glenn's eye's lit up.
"Alright. Let's give it a try. But you know Shane will be pissed if we bring back another mouth to feed." Glenn pointed out and I rolled my eyes.
"I don't give a damn what my husband thinks. I'm not about to let some idiot die out here. We should have made signs telling people not to come this way weeks ago."
"Hey, whoa." Glen said raising his hands defensively at my raising voice. "I'm with you. I was just saying."
"Okay, okay. I'm sorry." I breathed and Glenn patted my shoulder.
"Alright, let's see. This channel? Nope, uh, this one? Huh-uh... Let's try this out... Hey you... Dumbass... Yeah, you in the tank." Glenn said and I rolled my eyes and took the walkie.
"Are you cozy in there?" I asked sarcastically. "Come on, now. Are you still alive in there?" I asked still hearing nothing but silence on the other end. Glenn and I shrugged. Maybe he was dead.
"Hello? Hello?" A panicked voice came through the radio and we both sighed.
"There you are." I sighed happily. "You had us wondering for a minute there."
"Where are you? Are you outside?" The voice asked.
"Nah, we just know you're in a tank because we're in a magical fairy land." I responded sarcastically and Glenn took the walkie.
"Sorry about her, yeah we're outside and we can see you. You're surrounded by walkers. That's the bad news." Glenn explained.
"There's good news?"
"Uh, no." Glenn and I said together.
"Listen, whoever you are, I don't mind telling you I'm a little concerned in here."
"You should see it from over here." I scoffed.
"You'd be having a major freak out." Glenn added.
"Got any advise for me?" The man asked.
Glenn and I looked at each other.
"Yeah, make a run for it." Glenn suggested.
