"On three. Stay tight." Rick explained. "One, two, three!"The door slightly opened and he tossed out a gas grenade. It landed on the pavement outside and suddenly because to release thick smoke into the air. We could hear people shouting outside to come right towards our direction. We were gonna need to move fast.
"Let's go." Rick said as he began to led us out of the place we were held up in.
"There they are!" One man on a large wall yelled as he shined a light down on us.
Gunfire began sounding off in the night air. The fire came from every which way. These people had quite a few more than we did. I didn't know how we were going to survive. Glenn, Maggie and I stayed huddled close together as we ran for the wall. Rick, Daryl and Oscar began shooting the captors surrounding us.
"Behind you!" Daryl yelled.
There were men hiding behind a park bench and shooting at Rick as well as Glenn, Maggie and I. The three of us all ducked.
"Go! Run! Get over! Get there!" Rick screamed pointing towards one of the buildings.
Our group ran towards the building hiding in the small safety between the door and a wall.
"How many?" Rick demanded.
"I don't know. I didn't see!" Oscar replied.
"Don't matter. There's gonna be more of them. We need to move." Daryl explained as he reloaded his gun.
"Give me a gun." I mentioned holding my hand out towards them.
"No, you're hurt." Rick shook his head as he peeked around the corner of the wall.
"Give me a damn gun." I demanded harshly as I pulled Rick's shoulder making him look back at me.
He faced me with a look of surprise on his face and pulled a pistol from his holster and handed it too me.
"We got anymore Grenades?" Rick asked.
"Uh-huh." Daryl grunted in response.
"Get 'em ready. We got a gun it to the wall." Rick explained as gunfire still rained down around us.
I turned the corner and shot twice at some of the incoming men.
"You guys go ahead, I'm gonna lay down some cover fire." Daryl relayed.
"No, absolutely not." I said quickly as my heart raced in my chest. "We've gotta stay together."
"It's too hairy. I'll be right behind you." Daryl said as he stood and looked into my eyes.
"This is not a good idea." I stated as Rick nodded at him.
"It'll be fine." Daryl kissed my forehead carefully and pulled away from me. "Ready?"
Daryl jumped out from behind the wall and tossed another smoke grenade into the air until it plopped down onto the pavement. It began to spin and hiss as more smoke released from the canister.
"Grenade!" Someone yelled.
"Move, now!" Rick demanded.
"Let's get out of here." Oscar said.
Daryl ran one way, while Oscar took the lead for us. Rick held the cover fire as Oscar led us to a large bus. Maggie and Glenn ran first, I ran behind them, turned slightly and doing anything I could to cover Rick.
"This way!" Oscar shouted through the smoky air.
He reached back and grabbed my arm before pulling me towards the front of the bus. He placed his hands on my waist and with ease lifted my body up until I could get onto the hood. I reached back down and helped him up. We both stood on the hood of the bus reaching down for Glenn and Maggie. I grabbed her hands and pulled with every bit of strength I had left to get her up here with us.
