CHARLOTTE'S POV: At the same time Y/n and Rick are killing the walkers.

Mom and Uncle Rick ran off making the four walkers follow after them. I wrapped my arm around Sophia to help comfort her. I was scared to, but at least I knew how to protect myself. Sophia was my responsibility now. Time seemed to tick on, but there was no sign of them coming back yet. As I sat in my thoughts worrying slightly for my Mom and Rick, I felt Sophia move from under my arm.

"Where are you going?" I whispered harshly. My eyes wide, seeing her looking out from the small hole in the ground underneath the fallen tree.

"They said go back to the highway. I'm going back to my mom." Sophia said with fear evident in her voice.

"No, they said wait here." I demanded quietly trying to pull her back in.

"They've been gone for a while, Charlie. I'm going back where it's safe." Sophia said as she looked around, panicked.

"Fine." I sighed and pulled my dagger out. I crawled out with her and back up onto the hill from which we had came in from. "But you have to follow my lead. I have the weapons and I know how to use them. I ain't about to get eaten by no walkers." I huffed.

"Okay. Lead the way." Sophia nodded.

We started walking back from where we had come from. The sun was on my left shoulder just like Uncle Rick had said. Even though it was a forest it felt familiar and it seemed like we were going in the right direction. Suddenly branches breaking caught our attention. Sophia clung to my arm and I held my dagger out walking real slow and looking all around us for any sign of a Walker. Or maybe it was just the others coming to help us.

"I'm scared." Sophia whined in my ear.

"I know. It's okay to be scared. But I'm not going to let anything bad happen to you."  I told her softly. Knowing the words comforted me on more than one occasion.

She seemed to relax until another branch snapped. Sophia let go of my arm and started running in the complete opposite direction from which we were supposed to be going.

"Sophia!" I called out after her quietly as I could. "Sophia!" I grunted. I looked at the sun on my shoulder and groaned before turning and running after her.

YOUR POV:

Rick and I ran back straight the way we came and looked at the fallen tree in the distance. I sighed in relief as we came up on it.

"Girl's, it's just us. The walker's are gone. You can come out now." Rick said softly as we approached.

Silence.

"Charlotte, it's Mama. Sophia, honey. It's okay. You can come out now." I said softly and looked under neath the fallen tree in between all the roots that had hidden them and I gasped. "They're gone."

"Hey, hey. I'm sure they're fine. They probably went back to the highway. It did take us a bit to take down those walkers." Rick pointed out grabbing my shoulder firmly. "Come on."

"They better be." I groaned as I started jogging back the way we came and towards the highway.

It took a minute but we were panting by the time we had run back up the hill. Seeing the others in the distance.

"Rick! Y/n!" Lori called out as we reached the top. She engulfed Rick in a hug and looked around us. "Where are the girls? Where's Charlotte?"

"Sophia?" Carol said worriedly.
