YOUR POV:

I gave the bag to Maggie as instructed, moving around the bed to go and get Rick. We didn't have all the proper tools in order to help him. He was losing so much blood. Much faster than his body could replace it. Faster than we could try to help fix him up. Carl needed a blood transfusion and since Rick was a match at least there was something we could try for now. The other problem was that Carl woke up.

    "Shh, Carl. It's okay, buddy. I'm here. Aunty Y/n is here. I'm gonna get your dad." I said softly as Carl cried. It broke my heart. I walked out the door with tears in my eyes. "Rick." I said seeing him and Shane speaking out in the living room. "He's awake. He needs blood..."

    "Dad!" Carl cried and groaned in pain.

We all quickly walked back into the room.

    "You there. Hold him down." Hershel instructed towards Shane.

    "DAD!"

    "I got him." Shane said as he took Patricia's place next to me, using his hands and arms to hold Carl's body as still as he could.

I stood at the head of bed, holding one of Carl's hands and rubbing his head trying to comfort the frightened boy. Hershel tried to dig the bullet out making Carl scream and wriggle in pain. Patricia was trying to prep Rick's arm for the transfusion, but he was lost in his own world of pain. Watching his only son suffer.

    "Almost there." Hershel said with his tweezers dug into Carl's stomach, making him scream harder.

    "Stop! You're killing him!" Rick screamed over his son's own terrified screams.

    "Rick, do you want him to live?" Hershel demanded, not taking his eyes off Carl and what he was doing.

    "He needs blood." Patricia told him again. Trying to get him to cooperate.

    "Rick, come on. I need you to focus. I-I know how hard this is." I coaxed him to try to get his attention away from Carl.

    "DO IT NOW!" Shane screamed at him.

Rick listened and put out his arm, allowing Patricia to get his blood transfusion started. I shushed Carl the best I could. Suddenly Carl's hand stopped squeezing mine and his screams stopped.

    "Carl, Carl?" I said quickly and started to panic. "Oh, god."

    "Wait, wait." Shane said looking up as well.

    "He just passed out." Hershel explained calmly. "One down, five to go." He said as the shrapnel piece clinked inside the container he placed it in.

~~~~~~~~~~
We had no choice but to wrap Carl up, giving his body a break and setting up the transfusion between Rick and Carl. Hershel moved to the other side of the bed as we neared the finish point and began checking Carl's vitals and blood pressure.
    "Blood pressure's stable." He said.
    "Lori, needs to be here." Rick mentioned again.
I sat in a chair by the window looking out of it with a sigh. I was wondering if the group had make it back to the highway safely and if they had found the girls. Charlotte would be torn to pieces right now seeing, knowing her best friend was in pain...
    "She doesn't even know what's going on." Rick continued. "I've got to go find her. Bring her back."
    "Rick, you can't. They need you to keep giving him blood transfusions." I explained softly as I turned to look at him.
