The day had arrived. Michael packed a bag or two and leaped off the cliff of clouds that led to the living world. As he flew, the ground opened. He continued his descent until he was soaring through the dark skies of Hell. It had changed a bit. Michael took in the scenery as he made his way to the castle. He could see it had been renovated recently as he landed on the balcony for the rare communication between the two realms.

Lucifer was reading when the knock from his balcony came. He turned to see his twin. As always, he was right on time. It wasn't delightful. With a heavy sigh, he rose to let him in. Michael happily greeted his twin, and the two sat down. He noticed an old picture of them that had been appropriately vandalized. He didn't bother commenting. He had a much clearer idea of why Lucifer had always hated him. Lucifer snapped his fingers, and a servant brought the brothers tea and other refreshments. Michael took his brother's aged journal out of one bag as they poured the tea. Lucifer's eyes darkened. He demanded to know where his brother had gotten it. Calmly, Michael explained that God had ordered him to burn all his belongings the day after he was cast out. However, he had secretly kept a handful of them. He handed Lucifer one of the bags. Inside were some of his most beloved treasures.

As the two talked, the topic changed to the old wing the brothers had been barred from since they could remember. Lucifer knew a few secrets it held. And he still knew how to get in. He handed Michael the figurative keys to find out more for himself. Luckily, God had left for business yesterday and would be away for some time. This was the perfect opportunity to break in. And that's precisely what Michael promised to do. As the day winded down, the twins had more long discussions. They had a lot to catch up on and even more unfinished business with one another.
