Michael stood at the castle gates. With a deep breath, he let himself in and walked towards his father's office. He had been summed. Why? He already knew. And he was ready. Two servants opened the big doors for their prince. Michael sat across from his father and crossed his arms and legs. He had been preparing for this audience for a long time. God leaned forward and rested his chin on his hands. He studied his son closely. Michael knew what was coming. There was no going back after today. It was time to cast his own shadow and live his life. No more following orders blindly and agreeing to every request from his father.

Finally, God asked the first out of many questions. Was Michael plotting an attempt to overthrow Heaven? Was he influenced by his fallen brother Lucifer? What had he been up to during his father's absence? This went on for more than an hour. After his interrogation, Michael wrote a letter to Lucifer with rush delivery. He had to get word to him quickly. Things would have to slow down for a while. But they were not over. Michael was ready to fight for his disowned brother. And if their father had a problem with that, so be it. He had only been a father to one of them anyway.

The heavenly father sat in deafening silence in his office as he thought over what had just transpired. As a father, he wanted to believe Michael was on the right path—the one he had carefully laid out for him since the beginning. But as God, he couldn't ignore the possibility that his son was hiding something big. The risk of Heaven falling was too great. He shook his head. He didn't know what to do now. One son had been lost. If the rumors were true, God was in for one Hell of a wake-up call.

A note from the author: Some of you may or may not have noticed that I never use the same picture in one story/collection. This is a rule I've set for myself. Unfortunately, I couldn't find another pic of God with this kind of expression (by the same artist for consistency). So, this once, and hopefully not again, I had to break my rule.
