God sat on his throne. He was thinking about Lucifer after a long time. The boy had had so much potential, more than Michael, to be honest. But it had all been wasted. His drive for freedom and unwillingness to serve Heaven had cost him his place. God didn't know where he had gone wrong. From the beginning, he had made sure to raise Lucifer right. But he had messed up. Instead of putting Heaven before himself, he had grown shellfish and was self-serving. And God couldn't have that. Once that decision had been made, that was it. But he hadn't acted upon it right away. He had waited in hopes of him turning around. But there was no repentance. Lucifer had refused to turn around. Eventually, he grew increasingly distant, and his father had lost all faith in bringing his mind back. God didn't remember what he had said that day. But he remembered what he had done. He remembered how he had felt.
No parent wants to be disappointed in their child. They do the best they can at the time. But not all parents have the same vision for their family. God had been expecting greatness from his boys. He wanted them to shine for all of Heaven to see. He wanted them to rise above him one day. And maybe even rule Heaven with a wife. He had never been sure about that last one. But he had toyed with the idea more than a few times. And now, here his sons were. Lucifer ruled Hell with a wife and even had a daughter to take the throne when she was ready. Not to mention, she even had a boyfriend who was kingly material. He would be her fiancé and husband in time. Michael was still on his own. But he had been interested in a mortal down in the living world. God had no objections to her. He fully supported whatever lovely lady struck his romantic interest. However, as a Human, she wouldn't be by his side as long had she been an angel. It wasn't practical in the long run. But oh well. Maybe he'd find an angel. Or a demon. Who knew? For now, it was time God moved on as well.
