God sat inspecting his chessboard in his study. Only, this wasn't any old game. Each piece on the board held power. And that wasn't all. God chuckled as he carefully and strategically moved a few of the pieces. As he did, Heaven started to shift. Everyone held on. The closest thing it could be described as was an earthquake...without earth. So, a cloudquake? But clouds didn't have any tectonic place. They weren't even solid matter. Heaven could be a bizarre realm half the time. God hummed as he watched the show through the window. He chuckled. Hopefully, a little bit of restructuring would turn things around. As his realm reoriented itself, he sat back down and returned to work. With a bit of magic and the finest materials in Heaven, he crafted new pieces and placed them on his chessboard. With a grin on his face and a gleam in his eyes, the next phase could begin. A handful of Heaven's citizens fell as the new pieces were set. As the pieces moved, they vanished where they stood. God chuckled. He was very pleased with these latest results. The chessboard had grown more powerful since the last time. God was confident that its full potential could be unlocked with just a bit more effort. But for now, he was more than satisfied with this level. After all, good things came to those who waited.
