God sat in his office in silence. The doors were locked. He didn't want company right now. His son's letter sat on the rich mahogany desk. If only he had come home half an hour earlier. He could've at least seen him off. But he knew Michael had chosen to leave while he was out. God sighed heavily and slumped in his leather chair. He didn't know what to do anymore. First Lucifer. And now Michael. There was little comfort in knowing that it hadn't been out of rebellion and spite this time. God sat with his head in his hands. Sure, raising children was difficult. But he had never expected this. Luckily, Michael had promised to visit or at least write. Maybe. But it would be on his terms from now on. He was finally free. He was his own man now. As for God, he wasn't exactly worried. Michael was skilled in combat and knew how to hold his ground. He was more concerned about his son being alone than anything. But he knew he would manage. It still saddened God to know that the one son he had worked so hard to raise properly had left his side. But he trusted that Michael was still on his side (or so he assumed). For now, all he could do was hope for the best.
