Faith was a very messy topic. That was no secret. Sure, one could have all the books and the agreeing peers they could wish for. But not all minds are wired the same. While God's churches stood strong, faith was very much up to interpretation among the congregation. There was no such thing as a clear message. There was no one truth that everyone would accept. One verse could ring differently among many. While the living merely had arguments, the priests had their own disputes. By now, every priest in the world fell into one of the two factions – The White Priests and The Red Priests. While they served the same overall purpose, their methods were like oil and water.

Mesquiel of the white and gold led a more merciful way of managing things. God had instructed him to look after his churches and bring any wavering mortals back into his holy house. Of course, Mesquiel obliged and carried out his duties. But as kind and patient as he was, he was no pushover. Just because he was a divine entity didn't mean he didn't get stressed and angry. And after all, a leader has to be strong and take command of their subordinates.

Benjamin of the red and black preferred getting rid of meddlesome problems sooner than later. It wasn't that he didn't believe in second chances. He did. Kinda. But he wasn't going to waste his time and energy trying to get mortals back in line. His powers were meant for more extraordinary things. Like what? Benjamin never told anybody. His orders also came directly from God. But with a more "entertaining" aspect. It certainly kept things interesting. And he had no complaints about that.
