God's Third Wife

More years passed, and God was in the final stretch of his little experiment. By now, a significant number of Heaven's residents had gone missing. And rumors were spreading in the halls of the castle. Of course, God knew all about it. After all, he was responsible. But it didn't bother him. He had complete control. All he needed was one final piece to his puzzle. For the first time, God found someone who was truly his equal. And her name was Angelique. Others noticed that this relationship was on another level. It was clear that they had something different between them. Angelique was innovative and a gem of beauty. But what really sold God was her dark humor and cynical side. He loved a challenge. And she gave him one. Unlike most women of Heaven, she didn't immediately fall at his feet. She was a woman who worked for what she wanted and got it one way or another. God had his work cut out for him. But he was rewarded in the end with another wife. And this time, things were turning around.

In time, God told Angelique everything. It was a beautiful night with a full moon and bright stars. They had had dinner, and they were sitting in their room. He knew she was trustworthy. She had had her suspicions like everyone else. But she had never acted on them. As they talked, everything was laid out. She listened closely and agreed to help him. However, she had one condition that she would ask for later. God wasn't curious often. But he was now. He grinned, seeing the mischievous gleam in her eyes. He loved that look. And despite having the power to make her talk, he elected to wait for the surprise. For now, they left things as they were. God was satisfied with her current answer. Angelique cast a smirk over her shoulder as she changed for bed. Things were going to be far more interesting in the near future.
