What is an Angel?

 The angels of Heaven had many tasks. They delivered messages from Heaven to the living world. They guide souls to Heaven and barred wicked ones from entering. This was only the beginning of their job description. But above all else, angels were servants of God. They carried out his will. They were his army. They defended him without question. Once a soul was recognized as an angel, their training began. Some made it. Others failed.

As for Lucifer and Michael, they were no different. Once old enough, God enlisted them in the training that all residents of Heaven and souls underwent to determine their rank. He already had high expectations for them being so young. But from day one, God saw that Lucifer was a born fighter. He saw a potential soldier for his army. It pleased him greatly. Michael, however, struggled as a warrior from the start. However, he was equally promising. He just needed more guidance, which God provided with high expectations for two powerful soldiers in the future. He had a lot to look forward to with his two sons.

But all was not well. Despite being an angel, Lucifer grew into an unruly young man. There was nothing angelic about him on the inside. His rap sheet grew quickly. God was frequently asked to deal with him. In the beginning, he did. He made sure he didn't step out of line. But it was no use. Lucifer had his mind set on living how he wanted. And nothing deterred him from his chosen path away from everything that was expected of him. He hated the old-fashioned and traditional ways. Eventually, God gave up trying to rectify Lucifer. He was a lost cause, despite becoming one of the few seraphs of Heaven. Even after being cast out, he was still (technically) an angel. At least in appearance. In principle, Lucifer had become anything but. The black and white scale was blurred into shades of gray after he vanished from the clouds. Others began to question their existence as well. Thus, the seeds of revolution were sown deep.
