JJ comes from the cut and is a pogue while Kiara lives on Figure Eight and is a kook. JJ Maybank and Kiara Carrera are enemies and the whole island knows they don't get along. They have been enemies since they were in fifth grade together and JJ stuck his gum in Kiara's hair. Things only escalated as the two of them grew older.
Throughout the years, JJ and Kiara were constantly arguing, getting in fights (never physical, just yelling at each other), and making sarcastic comments. There were times when they were immature and would spill their drinks on each other, throw sand at each other, and stupid shit like that.
Kiara's best friend is Sarah Cameron and she is usually the one to drag Kiara and JJ apart. She couldn't stand the pogues either, however, she did occasionally speak with John B and Pope when JJ and Kie were fighting.
JJ's best friends were John B and Pope. JJ and John B became best friends in third grade and Pope joined them in fifth grade. JJ's home life sucks. His dad abuses him and his mom took off when he was a child.
Kiara and JJ are complete opposites but yet they always seem to run into each other on the small island.
