Honestly?  Now that Juliette had been through it before, there wasn't much that she was worried about with going to the concert- she'd taken Tegan's advice and brought noise-canceling headphones, though she hadn't taken Tegan up on the offer of just taking her backup pair.

Carly on the other hand... She seemed to be very in her head about this.  Why?  Everyone was nice, there was no need to worry.

"Carly." Shelby glanced at her in the rearview mirror, looking nervous.  Wait... What was she seeing that Juliette wasn't?  Now she was curious... But it was just Carly, looking slightly ill... Was she nervous?

"What?" God, she sounded faint... Juliette could understand how this would be intimidating, but it was going to be fine.  Neither her nor Shelby would lead Carly into a place where she was going to get hurt.  She turned around in her seat, placing a hand on Carly's knee, getting her to look over at her.

"You look like you're going to be sick.  Are you alright?" She asked, and Shelby cleared her throat, trying to give her a smile, but it registered to Juliette as a grimace... and it appeared to register to Carly in the exact same way, because she looked confused.  Ha.  It was nice to see other people mess up how she did, it made her feel more secure.

"If you are, lean out the window.  I just got this thing detailed." Juliette gave her a look.  C'mon, Shelbs... "What?"  She knew what.  Juliette knew she knew what... If it'd been her who'd been nervously almost throwing up in the backseat, that might've made her laugh, but Juliette wasn't sure how it was going to sit with a newer person.

Luckily, Carly laughed and leaned forward, patting Shelby's shoulder as she rested her chin on the back of the seat.

"I will lean out the window if I throw up, Shelby." Oh.  Good.  Juliette let out a breath of relief that she hadn't taken offense to that as Carly leaned back in her chair. "I'm worried that your friends are gonna think I'm boring."  Juliette furrowed her brows... They weren't really judgemental unless the person deserved judgment, but Carly really didn't seem to deserve that.  She was too sweet for that, they'd love her.

"Hey, if they don't think Juliette is boring, they won't think you're boring." Shelby joked, making Juliette glare over at her.  Dick... She was right of course, Juliette didn't know why they found her so interesting either, but still.  Asshole.  She didn't have to be punching down right now, that wasn't needed.

"Hey Shelby?" Juliette asked, and Shelby looked over at her with a small smile.  She knew what was coming, that was clear... And she'd earned it.

"What?" Juliette made sure to put her most sincere smile on her face as she rested her hand on Shelby's arm, giving it a light squeeze.  Don't be a bitch... No, that was a bit strong and Carly could think that she was actually being mean, which wasn't what she wanted.

"Shut the fuck up." Luckily, that read as humorous to everyone in the car, and Carly didn't think that she was being an asshole... It'd happened before where people had thought that, and she didn't want to have to get into a discussion about the fact that she was allowed to be an asshole to Shelby because they grew up together.

"I will.  Once I say something that isn't correct... That was factually correct." Shelby said and Juliette rolled her eyes and chuckled, shaking her head.  Okay, maybe it was but did it have to be said?  No.  Things could stay on the inside, that was where Juliette tried to keep all of her deepest emotions and opinions, why couldn't everyone else do the same?  It was easier that way.
