Juliette had obsessively checked her phone close to a dozen times as she stood outside Carly's house on the sidewalk, rocking on her heels as she tried to calm herself down... She knew it was fine, she knew they'd agreed to hang out today but Carly hadn't fully confirmed that the plans were still on, and the last thing she wanted was to show up unannounced and very possibly unwanted, that was her worst nightmare, honestly... She wanted to be sure about it...
They'd agreed on 11:00AM, and it was currently 11:08AM... She could knock on the door, but what if she was told that Carly hated her and she should go home and the entire hangout was an elaborate ruse to make her feel like complete and utter shit?
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw something skittering in the bushes, and she walked around to the side of the house to see Becky running down the short part of the roof, sliding down to the fence, her shirt half buttoned, her boots on and her jacket nearly on... She smirked... That explained it, the feeling that she shouldn't quite go in yet.
"Hey Becks." Becky looked up at her, alarmed as she fell off the fence and into a snowbank, letting out a pained groan. Juliette fought back a laugh as she reached around the fence and opened the gate, holding a hand out to Becky, who was laying on her back and staring at the sky, clearly embarrassed. "Need a little help there?" She asked, and Becky shook her head, covering her red face with her hands.
"Just leave me here to die, it'd be less painful... Let God take me back." Becky mumbled, and she laughed... So dramatic over being caught with her girlfriend, that was kind of funny. Juliette leaned down a bit more, shaking her head.
"God doesn't deserve you, at least not with the shit he's been pulling recently." She extended her hand further, raising an eyebrow. "Take my hand, Aladori... I knew that was your car." Becky sighed and linked their hands, letting Juliette haul her to her feet. While she dusted herself off, Juliette helped straighten her shirt, redoing the buttons... Who the fuck wore a button down blouse to a hook up? Only Becky...
"You're not surprised?" She asked, and Juliette shrugged, shaking her head... How much did she say? Let your mouth run wild, just this once.
"Considering I saw the two of you fucking in the back of your car during finals week, I'm gonna say no, I'm not surprised." She said, and Becky's face dropped as she grimaced, shaking her head, resting it on Juliette's shoulder with a heavy sigh, seeming more embarrassed than Juliette thought was really needed... She was allowed to hook up with people, she had free will, right?
"Oh my god, that's mortifying... I'm sorry." She said, and Juliette shrugged... At the time she'd been shocked, sure... But she was glad that Becky's new girl was someone so wonderful, she deserved an attentive, loving partner, considering her last serious relationship was with Colton... God, how far did she have to be shoved back in the closet for that to seem like a good idea, right? Juliette wrinkled her nose at the thought... No, wait... Conversation.
"Why are you sorry? I'm glad you're with someone who isn't a total fucking dickhead, it's refreshing." Juliette said, and Becky looked at her doubtfully, like she was waiting for the other shoe to drop, and Juliette couldn't blame her... It was what they were both used to, they were two sides of the same coin.
But there was no other shoe, there was no hidden agenda... She was just happy that Becky was happy.
"Really?" She asked, sounding apprehensive, and Juliette smiled and nodded. She was ecstatic, she was glad that Becky felt loved, that she felt cared for... Sure, she had a weird complexy moment about the fact that Becky and Carly wouldn't tell her... But she was mostly over that. She had her secrets, it wasn't fair to assume that other people wouldn't have them as well.
