It was far off in the distance but for Sydney and I's sake, I would remain hopeful that those were ferry lights coming to pick-up the guests of whoever's party we just crashed at the castle. Maybe a guest ordered the ferry so they could return back to the mainland Razalia Raven Cove. The mainland only had one private ferry rental service company that would pick-up passengers from various islands.
I couldn't explain why, but the thought of it being a ferry brought me peace, it made me feel less alone and I knew I wasn't alone.. I had Sydney but I wanted my mom. I looked at Sydney and said "trust". I extended my hand out towards Sydney. We kept making our way towards the light even if I was completely and utterly terrified.
Those ferries are big enough that we could sneak on without being noticed, but as we continued down the dirt-pathway the lights weren't moving like they usually do bobbing up and down.
