Frances was going easy on me but that would not help us win this war against a whole nation. Each and everyday after training my body felt broken and I was exhausted. Most people my age were not physically preparing themselves to go to war, they were preping for college during this time and before now the most physical labor I had to do back at home was taking the trash out weekly to the curb.
Yes, I was learning how to protect myself and the people around me. I was covered in bruises head-to-toe that was proof of something that's for sure. It was worth it, Islaraven was worth protecting. Its people were worth keeping safe, over this short period of time Islaraven has started to feel more-and-more like home.
I was reminded of the conversation Gisaelle and I had when I first arrived here. One day you'll look at this as your home and never want to leave and that each day as I was here became more of a reality.
