I only could pray that over time my heart would mend and we could once again be whole. Only time could tell. "You should not fear your strength Azalia. It's one of the best things about you," Frances said before letting go of me and leaving me alone inside the drawing room. The walk back to my chamber was melancholy to say the least.
Tomorrow I will leave the castle and make the mettlesome journey through the land to where the dragons live. How would I explain my decision to my father? Would he agree willingly? I hoped he wouldn't be upset with me.

My eyes fluttered open, I had barely slept last night. My thoughts had been preoccupied. Exhaustion consumed me and the what if's overwhelmed my mind. I slipped out of my silky bed sheets, where I could see Gisaelle was packing the last of items for my journey ahead as stated in the note I left for her on my vanity.
