Chapter Nine

Gisaelle left my beside, she walked around the spacious room blowing out the various candles leaving only a single one lit beside my bed. Gisaelle gently rested her palm on my head, what she said next I was not expecting. In her coarse but sweet accent she offered to find the soap I wanted, but she did say it might take her some time. It was a tiny act of kindness that meant so much to me.

Once I heard the door click closed behind Gisaelle I jumped out of bed and rushed over to my desk vanity. I sat down and pulled my journal out from my deak, this is the only thing I have to myself. This one thing is completely my own, and I would not allow anyone to take this away from me.

Tuesday March 23rd 1802

The next morning I was awoken to the sound of blaring trumpets in the courtyard. I peered through the window, looking down into the courtyard. Today is the coronation! I remembered..
