I could not understand what they had to talk about.. They had just met, had she totally forgotten that these men were kindly holding us hostage. I laid down in the mossy grass, in front of the blazing fire. Everyone else continued to talk while I tried my hardest to close my eyes. All I could tell myself was go to sleep so you can wake up. Sydney sat down beside me, and rested.
We both just looked at each other, and I said "Syd, are you sure this is real life?" She petted my head gently trying her best to console me. I closed my eyes trying to relax myself but, when I opened my eyes after a bit Sydney was fast asleep. Her chest was slowly rising and falling as she slept peacefully. The men who had abducted us from the tavern, were spread all around through the grass.
One-by-one they picked a spot around the fire, and fell asleep. I was the final person awake, stars filled the entire sky and I was amazed watching the shooting stars that swooshed past in the speckled sky.
