The metal ball went hurling through the air, shooting into the distance. I covered my ears, they were ringing loudly so loud infact that it made it hard to focus. The cannon ball landed miles away, exploding as it touched the earth. You culd see the earthly debris flying through the skies atmosphere leaving behind a divot in the ground.
I could see silhouettes making their way through the smoke that was created from the cannon's debris. The cannon shots hadn't stopped the Erix like we expected, I could see hoards of soldiers running up the hilltop. They came from the left, some from directly on and others from the right hand side. We were surrounded.. Thomas took off running straight towards where the people had come from.
A slew of soldiers followed him. Sylian pulled her sword from her belt and went running in the same direction as Thomas. It was now just Frances and I, he grabbed me by the arm. We were running in the opposite direction away from the action.
