Sydney came up from behind me and placed her hand against my shoulder, 'I'm sorry" she said. I didn't know if she really thought I was gonna accept that apology or if she was just saying it as an effort to make amends. I was upset and couldn't understand why she was acting like we were complete strangers.
Pescal interrupted us by yelling which I am learning is just his regular voice. "Men and mistresses, can you dismount your horses and head the castle's way?" Pescal directed the horses away from the castle grounds and gardens. The horses followed behind us and we walked up to the homestead.
Each man one-by one tied the horse's rein onto the stable pole. A few men in old, timely tailored suits approached us. They had to be footmen or some form of guards. I was still pretending to be a princess because of Sydney and this was getting more frightening, I am pretty sure this could get us executed. The footmen summoned Pescal over. My stomach was turning and I was growing more anxious by the second.
