I was terrified, I could feel my heart thumping through my chest. We were gonna get caught in a lie and be executed and my mom who is in a whole different time is never gonna know what happened to me. We walked down the beautiful cobblestone hallways that had the same candle lanterns hung every few like back home; however, on the opposite side of the hallway there were symmetrical windows placed a few feet apart.

Outside the tall windows you could see down into the courtyard below. The courtyard spread as far as your eyes could see. We approached a pair of wooden pane double doors with gigantic golden handles. The door's slowly opened. I couldn't see anything since I was standing all the way at the back. The men guided our way into the room.

I looked beside me at Sydney and reached for her hand. She allows our fingers to interlace and she just nods at me. The men orderally walked down a long stretch walk-way, Sydney and I walked step and step together.
