Frances went to open the side door, "aye will see where we are and why we have stopped" he said. The carriage door slammed closed behind Frances, he swiftly marched around the front where the coachman sits upon the boot. I waited for Frances to re-appear with knowledge of why we stopped mid-journey. I waited a few minutes listening for any noise coming from outside the carriage.
It was eerily silent. The only sound was a few crows squawking, I remained vigilant awaiting Frances return. I grew worried as the seconds ticked on, I jumped up from my seat. I stepped down the carriage steps, slowly walking the leaves on the dirt road that were unbothered by any human life. We were deep into the forest. I approached the front of the carriage, three men stood there speaking quietly.
"What's going on guys?" The men all peered over towards me, Frances walked up to me scooping my hands up into his. "This is the end of the roadway.
